PA G E 1 0 TUBE MAINTENANCE & MICROPHONICS: Y ou ma y occasionally e xperience some f orm of tube noise or microphonics. Cer tainly no cause for alarm, this quir ky behavior co mes with the terr itor y and the T one.
P AGE 11 DIA GNOSING PRE AMP TUBE PR OBLEMS: Because your amplifier is an all tube design, it is quite possible that you will at some point experience minor pre-amp tube no ise.

PA G E 1 8 BIAS ADJUSTMENT: ( A continuing ser ies ...) NO TE: An ar ticle written b y Randall Smith that we thought you might find interesting. Here’ s a question we often hear : “Wh y doesn’t Mesa put bias adjustments in their amplifiers?” W ell, there’ s a shor t ans wer and a long ans wer to this question.
PA G E 1 9 BIAS ADJUSTMENT : (Continued) When you set the bias (whether it’ s by selecting the r ight resistors , as we do , or adjusting a trimmer — which is quicker) what y ou are doing is establishing the correct amount of idle CURRENT that flows through the power tubes.
PA G E 2 0 BIAS ADJUSTMENT: (Continued) Again, this has some mer it .. but it’ s still not as good as using tubes that are matched in the first place because compensatin g f or the mis-match causes the push-pull circuit itself to become unbalanced. T wo wrongs don’t really make a right.

PA G E 2 2 ON TRIODES, PENT ODES & IRISHMENT: (Continued) Thus a diode tube - one with a cathode and an anode - is mostly used to rectify alter nating current into direct current by passing it without restriction, but in one direction only .
