This CD player requires either two (2) “AA” cell standard batteries (not included) or the AC adapter (not included). BA TTERY INST ALLA TION The low battery indicator ( ) will light in the display when batteries are low (when using battery power) and need replacing.
AC OPERA TION T o operate the unit using AC power , connect an AC adapter (not included) to an AC outlet having 120V , 60Hz AC only . Plug the small end into the DC 4.5V jack on the side of the unit and connect the other end into the AC outlet. The batteries are automatically disconnected when the AC adapter is used.
OPERA TION 9 Plug the headphones into the Headphones jack. Press th e Play/Pause ( )/Power On button ❶ to turn the unit on. If a CD is in the CD compartment, press the Stop ( ■ )/Power Off button ❷ once to stop playback, otherwise continue to step 2.
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 10 T o change back to the CD mode, press the Play/Pause ( )/Power On button. 5 T o turn the radio off, press the Stop ( ■ )/Power Off button. 6 ANTENNAS FM – The headphones act as an antenna for FM. Extend the headphone wire for best FM reception.
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 11 T une a desired station as described in the previous section. Press the PROG button; the memory number will blink and PROG indicator will appear .
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 12 Open the CD compartment lid by sliding the CD Door OPEN switch. Gently press a disc, label side up, onto the spindle until it locks in place. Close the CD compartment lid. 1 TO INSERT AND PLA Y A CD This CD player is designed to play all kinds of Audio Discs and MP3 CD ROMS, such as CD recordables and rewritables.
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 13 When the disc is through playing, it will stop. Press the Stop ( ■ )/Power Off button to stop the disc before it is finished. Press the Stop ( ■ )/Power Off button again to turn the unit off. 5 CD PLA YBACK NOTES: • See page 20 for more information on MP3’s.
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 14 During CD playback, if you wish to pause the disc momentarily , press the Play/Pau se ( )/Po wer On butto n. Playback will stop but the disc continues to spin and “P AUSE” will appear and the elapsed time will flash in the display .
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) During playback, depress and hold either the Skip/Search ❶ or ❷ button to move the player forward or backward within a track to locate a specific musical passage. The player will move forward or backward at high speed as long as the buttons are depressed.
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 16 T o repeat all files in a folder/album (MP3 CD only), press the MODE button twice while playing a CD; “ ” will appear in the display . ALBUM 1 REPEA T PLA YBACK OF A FOLDER/ALBUM (MP3 w/folders only) All files in the selected folder/album will be repeated continuously .
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 17 T o randomly playback the tracks on CD, press the MODE button four times (five times if playing an MP3) while playing a CD; “RAND” will blink in the display . 1 TO RANDOML Y PLA Y BACK A CD The unit will play all the tracks in random order .
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 18 TO PROGRAM THE MEMOR Y (UP T O 64 TRACKS) Programming is the ability to preselect the order in which a series of tracks will be played. While in the Stop mode, press the PROG button. The track number will blink and “P- 01” will appear in the display .
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 19 Repeat steps 2 through 4 to program additional tracks up to a maximum of 64 tracks. 2 1 5 Pr ess the Play/Pause ( )/Power On bu tt on to begin program playback; “PROG” will appear in the display .
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 20 RESUME This unit has Auto resume, which will resume playback of the last track listened to as well as the volume level last selected when the unit is turned on (and the same CD is still in the CD compartment). T o cancel Auto Resume, you need to change the CD.
Can I use the MP3 extension for non-audio data files? No, this may result in serious malfunction and harmful noise interference. Does the unit support multi-session CDRs? If the MP3 CD is not finalized, you can burn a new group of MP3 files until the CD is full.
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 22 SELECTING SONGS BY MP3 TITLE Y ou can search for a song by title as follows: During MP3 playback, press and hold the EQ/NA VI button for more than two seconds; the File Search display will appear .
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 23 If you make a mistake, simply press the Stop ( ■ )/Power Off button to delete the last letter entered. 5 Repeat steps 2 through 4 until the desired title appears in the display , or go to step 7. 2 1 6 Press the MODE button ❶ to move the cursor to the title.
OPERA TION (CONTINUED) 24 SEARCHING THROUGH MP3 FOLDERS Y ou can search the contents of the folders (if burned on CD) as follows: During MP3 playback, press and hold the EQ/N A VI button for more than two seconds; the File Search display will appear .
SINGLE SESSION The following chart is an example of a Windows Explorer display that will appear on your computer monitor for a single session MP3 CD ROM with directories/albums . Check the added notes to help you understand the MP3 CD unit display and the playback sequence of directories/ albums and tracks on a single session MP3 CD.
MUL TI SESSION The computer user does not need to finalize the CDR disc as music is burned on the CD. Because of this, the music can be downloaded at different times until the whole CD is full. Caring for Compact Discs • T reat the compact disc carefully . Handle the compact compact disc only by its edges. Never allow your fingers to come in contact with the shiny , unprinted side of the compact compact disc. • Do not attach adhesive tape, stickers, etc.
• Compact discs should be stored in their cases after each use to avoid damage. • Do not expose compact discs to direct sunlight, high humidity , high temperatures, or dust, etc. Prolonged exposure or extreme temperatures can warp the co mp act disc.
