Wall Mounting Your Tele phone* The 9002MWD is design ed to be conv eniently wall mounted . Note: A 9002MWD wal l mountin g kit must be used (not included) Fol lo w these eas y step s: 1. The handset retain ing clip m ust b e engag ed to secure the ha ndset when hanging up.
Power Adapte r “LINE” Conn ection The power adap ter “LI NE” connection i s used to con nect the t elephone l ines from the wall jack to the te lepho ne. Using the 15 ’ modula r tele phone line co rd provided, connect one e nd of th e cord to the RJ14 t elephone ja ck on the wa ll or base board.
Install th e Hands et Battery To install the h ands et batte r y ; 1. Open the ba ttery cov er as s hown, 2. In sert the batte ry pack. Mat ch the polar ity mark s from the battery to the ca se (+ to +). 3. When prope rly inst alled, th e batte ry will slide into pos ition.
21 Charging th e Hand set Battery The Handset Battery is a Ni- Cd battery . This battery req uires a full charge prior to use t o ensure long life. To charg e the ba ttery, com- plete the insta llation proce dure by plugg ing in the pow er sou rce to t he outlet and th e 9002MWD teleph one.
22 Message Waiting Lamp The 9002MWD su pports a low- voltage LED messag e waiting lamp or 90VDC neon. To turn O N, sl ide th e swit ch to the “LED” o r “NEON” position. The switch is located undernea th the ov erlay and face plate o n the to p of the ba se.
Guest Servi ce Keys (Speed Di al Memory) The 9002MWD has 10 o ne-touch spe ed dial mem ory locatio ns that a re used as a conv en- ience fo r dialing frequen tly used num bers.

Programming A Flash Into Memory The “F lash” k ey is a storable f unction int o mem ory that is use d to pro vide a 600m S tim ed line bre ak. This func tion may be requir ed for accessing line f eatures provided by yo ur telephone sy stem or local teleph one comp any.
Placing A Call Using The Handse t Follow the instr uction s below for placing a call using the hands et. 1. Lift the handset f rom the b ase and ac tivat e the ON/OF F lin e key . 2. Dial out us ing the numeric dial pad on the handset or th e base. 3.
7 BASE UNIT DIALING Placing A Call Using The Base Unit Follow the ins tructions bel ow for p lacing a call using the base unit. 1. The handset c an either be o n or off the b ase cradle whe n dialing from th e base uni t. 2. Press the de sired line k ey or activ ate the SPEAKER key .
Locating The Hand set The 9002MWD is equipp ed with a handset locato r featu re key locat ed on th e ba se . Simply press the “LOCATE” but ton on the base uni t. The h andset will beep for about 15 seconds . Once the handset is loc ated, sim ply press the ON/OFF key to activate y our handse t.
Using The Handset Volume Control A convenient h andset vol um e control is provided. This v olum e control will adjus t the loudness o f the handset. The loudnes s can be ad justed in e ight (8) s teps up o r down. Using The Speake rpho ne Volume Control A rocker v olum e switch is prov ided to adjust the loudne ss of the speakerph one.
Line Status In dicators (Base Unit) The 9002MWD h as visual LED indi cators located on t he base un it th at indic ates the status of the telephon e. Ringing of Line The LED above th e line ke y blink s rapidly GREEN showing which lin e is ringing . Line In-U se The LED above th e line ke y shows a steady GREEN color whe n off- hook.
Using The Data Port The 9002M WD is equipp ed with a conven ient port on th e right side of the bas e unit. Thi s modular re ceptac le is used to pl ug in an y standard telep hone device such as a compute r modem , answering m achin e or fax m achine.
32 Using The Hold Feature (Base Unit) The “Ho ld” key is used to place a calle r on hold. To use, s imply press the “Ho ld” key. The LED light wi ll show a steady RED to indicate t hat th e line is o n hold. When placing a calle r on hold, the l ine wil l not be disconnec ted.
33 Redial (Optional) The “Red ial” k ey is us ed to au tom atically redial t he last number that wa s manual ly dialed fr om the num eric dial pad of t he specific han dset or base unit. I t is a submerg ed key located underneath th e plastic ov erlay on the base.
Using Th e Conference Feature On the Handset The “Conf” key is used to estab lish a 3- way conversa tion. The conference featur e is acti- vated when pres sing a s equence of l ine key s. A 3-way “Confer ence” call c an be esta blished while on the ha ndset.
