13 Use the control panel The con trol pane l buttons he lp you scan, co p y , fax, and cus tomize documents. W hen Po w e r is lit, the All- In-One is on. Y ou can selec t a mod e from the Mode area , select or change settings using sev eral of the buttons , and initi ate a sca n, copy , or fax from the Star t buttons on th e far right.

T o enter te xt: 1 Find the number button that cor responds to the lett er you want to enter and press i t repeate dly u ntil the c orrect letter ap pears.

77 3 Squeeze the ta bs on the car t r idge lids, and th en lif t the lids. 4 Remov e the old car trid ges. Store th em in a n air-tigh t conta iner or dispose of them . 5 If you are instal ling new ca r tr idges, remove the foam, sticker , and transparent ta pe from th e bottom of the car tr idges.

87 T r oubleshoo ting Setup troubleshooting If you e xp erie nce pro blems while setti ng up your All- In-One , make sure: • Y ou un lock the scanner bed by pushing the scanner lock down. F or help locati ng the sc anner lock, see the pi cture of t he All-In- One on page 11.
88 If your All-In- One is attached to a co mputer , ma ke sure: • Both your co mputer and your All-In- One are on . • The All- In-One is connecte d direc tly to your comp uter . • The All- In-One is set as your default pr inter . • The USB cable is secur ely atta ched to your comput er and to y our All-In-O ne.
