3: Installation: EDS4100 EDS Device Servers User Guide 22 Serial Ports The front of the EDS4100 has four male DB9 serial p orts. These ports allow you to connect up to four standard serial devices: All four serial ports support RS-2 32 devices. See Figure 3-3 for pin assignments.
3: Installation: EDS4100 EDS Device Servers User Guide 23 Ethernet Port The back panel of the EDS4100 provides an RJ45 Ethern et port. This port can connect to an Ethernet (10 Mbps) or Fast Ethernet (100 Mbps) network. Th e Speed LED on the back of the EDS4100 shows the con nection of the attached Ethernet network.
