• R eplace the cover on the batter y compartment. If the batteries are too weak, this is indicated on the screen by a flashing symbol . Mains connection • Connect the plug of the mains adapter to the EXT. DC 7 .5 V 400 mA sock et on the side of the device.
General functions K ey lock In order to pre vent changing the settings unintentionally by touching the buttons, you can activ ate t he k ey lock. • Pr ess and hold down the MEM button for around 3 seconds. On screen, the message flashes. All buttons, except the buttons SNOOZE and MEM , are no w blocked.
The time functions can only be set when the radio is switched off. If an RDS signal is not received at the first switch-on, the pre-adjusted time for the multi-band radio begins with "0:00 00". If the device is disconnected from its po wer supply the settings are lost.
Setting cloc k time • Pr ess MODE once. The most recently set time flashes on t he screen. • Press the UP or DOWN button to mov e the time for ward or backwar d at minute inter vals. Hold do wn one of the buttons for a few seconds to mov e t he setting forward or backwar d quickly at 10 minute inter vals.
Setting the time zone • Press MODE again or three times. The select ed time zone flashes on the screen as the abbreviation for the corresponding city ( UT C when first switched on); the time disappears. • Press the UP or DOWN button to mov e the time zone for ward or backwar d.

Special date alarm • Pr ess t he MODE button a fif th time to set the special date alarm. The screen flashes SD A1 and the date in succession. • Pr ess t he PAG E button to select one of the ten settable date alarms ( SD A1 – SDA 10 ). • Pr ess t he UP or DOWN button to set the date on which the alarm should sound.
Switch Automatic Updat e (RDS) On/Off With this function the device can automatically update the settings for date and time from the RDS signal. • Press the button MODE nine times. In the display the indication UPD A ON appears. • Press the button DOWN to switch the automatic update of f.
Setting the alar m time Y ou can set tw o alar m times in y our world receiver . • With the radio switched of f, press the buttons VOL.+/AL–1 (or VOL.-/AL–2 ). The screen sho ws the most recently set alarm time and the symbol for the alarm type.
• Press the SNOOZE button until the desired alarm days ar e set. Hold down the SNOOZE button until the screen shows an individual w eek day . • Pr ess t he SNOOZE button to set the desired week day . T o go back to selecting week days, w eekend or ev er y day , briefly hold down the SNOOZE button again.
Set snooze time • With the radio switched off, press the button MODE seven times. The screen d is pl ay s t he s nooze time set (default is” SNO 10 ”). • Use the UP and DOWN buttons to set the snooze time to a time between 1 and 59 minutes. T urning of f t he alarm function • Press the VOL.

Radio oper ation Switching on/volume control • Press the POWER button to switch the radio on. ON will appear briefly on the screen, follow ed by the current frequency and band selection. • Pr ess t he VOL.+/AL–1 or VOL.–/AL–2 button to control the v olume: Button VOL.
Sleep function Y ou can activate the sleep function via the SNOOZE button. Y ou can set a time of up to 90 minutes in ten-minute steps, af ter which the radio will auto- matically turn itself of f. T o do so, first switch the radio of f. • Pr ess t he SNOOZE button.
Fine tuning If a station can not be found precisely the fine tuning can be use to impro ve reception. • During the channel search press the FINE button, the screen show s FINE . • No w , using the buttons UP resp. DOWN , adjust the required reception range with smaller frequency steps.
Memor y functions Save station The world receiv er can save 400 stations in each frequency range. T o store a station, proceed as follo ws: • Set the frequency r ange wit h the frequency selection switch and then the station that you want to sav e. • Pr ess t he MEM button.
Selecting a saved station • In order to select a sav ed station directly , first use the frequency selection switch to select the frequency range where the station is sav ed. • Pr ess t he PAG E button and then use the UP or DOWN buttons to select a memor y page (from 00–39).
Cleaning Risk of injury from electric shock: • Disconnect the device fr om the mains power before cleaning it! • Nev er immerse the device’ s par ts into water or other liquids! • Do not allow liquid to pene trate the housing.
