6 Intr oduction Storage and Usage Locations Allowab le ambient temperature and humidity Be sure to use this unit within the allowab le temperature range of 0 f to 40 f and a relativ e humidity of 3 0 % to 8 0 %.
7 SDHC/SDXC Car ds This camera recorder sav es the recorded images and audio sound on the SDHC/SDXC card (sold separately) i n the card slot. Use an SDHC/SDXC card (4 GB to 12 8 GB) with C lass 6 or higher pe rf or mance and formatted using this camera recorder .
8 Intr oduction Others Do not inser t obj ects other than the memor y card into the card slot. Do not tur n off the po wer or remove the po wer cable during re cording or pla yback. The camera recorder ma y not sho w stable pictures f or a fe w seconds immediately after the power is turned on, but this is not a malfunction.

15 Preparations Adjusting the Grip Belt Open the pad and adjust the position of the grip belt accordingly . N o te : ● If the grip is loose, the camera recorder may f all off resulting in injuries or malfunction. ● P arents should take e xtra care when your child is using the camera recorder .
16 Preparations Removing the Hood Remov e the hood when attachin g a filter (with e xter nal diameter 50 mm and below), teleconv er ter or wide conv er ter to the front of the lens . 33 Specifying the Luminance Level Range f or Displaying Zebra P attern Y ou can specify the upp er limit (T op ) and lower limit (Bottom) of the luminance lev el range. This is set to the range of 70 % to 8 0 % b y default. 1 Specify the upper (T op) and lower (Bottom) limits of the luminance le vel in [LCD/VF ] menu B [Shooting Assist] B [Zebra].
34 Shooting Error Message If the auto white bala nce adjustment is not correctly completed, one of the following messages will appear for about 3 seconds. Using the Full A uto White Balance (F A W) Function The F A W function adju sts the white balance value automatically as the lighting condition changes.
35 Applicable to: Manual shooting mode M Y ou can select the gain of th e video amplifier using the [GAIN] s witch on the camera recorder . The default positions of the s witch are as follows. The light sensitivity can be el ectr ically boosted using the [GAIN] s witch when there is insufficient illu mination on the object.
36 Shooting Applicable to: Manual shooting mode M The aper ture value (F-number) of the lens can be set as follo ws. 1 Set to the Manual shootin g mode. 2 Set to the aperture adjustment mode. ● Press the [IRIS A/M] b utton to set to the Manual Iris mode.

39 Applicable to: Camera mode , Media mode 1 Connect the headphone. Connect the headphone to th e headphone ( ) jack. 2 Set the headphone sound to mixed sound or stereo sound. 40 Shooting Presetting the Time Code/User ’ s Bit The time code and user ’ s bit can be set in the [TC/UB] menu. ( A P age 69) There are two wa ys to display the [TC/UB] menu. A Displa y the me nu screen using the [MENU/THUMB] button, then s elect the [TC/UB] menu.

42 Shooting Applicable to: Camera mode If both the slots are loaded with recordable cards in the factory default ([Slot Mode] is set to A Ser ies B ), pressing the [REC] butt on star ts recordin g only to the media in the selected slot.
43 N o te : ● T o perform recording in the Dual Rec mode, it is recommended that you star t recording by making use of two cards with the same capacity and from the formatted state. ● Y ou can combine the use of the Dual Re c mode with a special recording mode.

50 Playbac k Thumbnail Screen The thumbnail screen is a vailab le in “No Detailed Proper ties (4x 3 thumbnails)” and “Detailed Pr oper ties (4x1 thumbnails)” displa ys. Use the thumbnail menu [Detailed Proper ties] to switch displa y . ( A Page 5 3 ) The first frame of the recorded cli p on the SDHC/SDXC card is display ed as the thumbnail.
