PRECAUTIONS ON VEHICLE- T O- VEHICLE DIST ANCE CONTROL MODE The system is intended to enhance the operation of the vehicle when following a vehicle traveling in the same lane and direction.
– On roads where the traffic is heavy or there are sharp curves – On slippery road surfaces such as on ice or snow, etc . – During bad weather (rain, fog, snow, etc .
returned from the vehicle ahead. Therefore, if the sensor cannot detect the reflection from the ve- hicle ahead, the ICC system may not maintain the selected distance.
The detection zone of the ICC sensor is limited. A vehicle ahead must be in the detection zone for the vehicle-to-vehicle distance detection mode to maintain the selected distance from the vehicle ahead. A vehicle ahead may move outside of the detec- tion zone due to its position within the same lane of travel.
When driving on some roads, such as winding, hilly , curved, narrow roads, or roads which are under construction, the ICC sensor may detect vehicles in a different lane, or may temporarily not detect a vehicle traveling ahead. This may cause the ICC system to decelerate or accelerate the vehicle.
Intelligent cruise control switch The system is operated by the CRUISE ON/OFF switch and four control switches, all mounted on the steering wheel. 1. ACCEL/RES switch: Resumes set speed or increases speed in- crementally . 2. COAST/SET switch: Sets desired cruise speed, reduces speed incrementally .
3. Set distance indicator: Displays the selected distance between ve- hicles set with the distance switch. 4. Set vehicle speed indicator: Indicates the set vehicle speed.
● When the shift lever is not in the D (Drive) or Manual mode ● When the parking brake is applied ● When the brakes are operated by the driver When the COAST/SET switch is pushed under the following conditions, the system cannot be set. A warning chime will sound and a message will pop up.
System operation WARNING Normally when controlling the distance to a vehicle ahead, this system automatically accelerates or decelerates your vehicle according to the speed of the vehicle ahead. Depress the accelerator to prop- erly accelerate your vehicle when accel- eration is required for a lane change.
How to change the set vehicle speed T o cancel the preset speed, use any of these methods: ● Push the CANCEL switch. The set vehicle speed indicator will go out. ● T ap the brake pedal. The set vehicle speed indicator will go out. ● T urn the CRUISE ON/OFF switch off.
Distance Approximate distance at 60 MPH (100 km/h) [ft (m)] 1. Long 180 (55) 2. Average 130 (40) 3. Short 80 (25) ● The distance to the vehicle ahead will change according to the vehicle speed. The higher the vehicle speed, the longer the dis- tance.
Also, the sensor sensitivity can be affected by vehicle operation (steering maneuver or driving position in the lane) or traffic or vehicle condition (for example, if a vehicle is being driven with some damage) . Automatic cancellation A chime sounds under the following conditions and the control is automatically canceled.
Action to take: If the warning light comes on, park the vehicle in a safe place, turn the engine off. When the radar signal is temporarily interrupted, clean the sensor area of the front bumper and perform the settings again.
● Do not attach metallic objects near the sen- sor area (brush guard, etc.) This could cause failure or malfunction. ● Do not alter, remove, or paint the front bum- per. Before customizing or restoring the front bumper, please contact an INFINITI retailer.
4. CANCEL switch: Deactivates the system without erasing the set speed. Conventional (fixed speed) cruise control mode display and indicators The display is located between the speedometer and tachometer. 1. CRUISE ON/OFF switch indicator: Indicates that the CRUISE ON/OFF switch is ON.

PREVIEW FUNCTION (for Intelligent Cruise Control system equipped models) The ICC system with the preview function iden- tifies the need to apply emergency braking by sensing the vehicle ahead in the s.
The detection range of the sensor is approxi- mately 490 ft (150 m) ahead. WARNING ● This system is only an aid to assist the driver and is not a collision warning or avoidance device. It is the driver’s re- sponsibility to stay alert, drive safely and be in control of the vehicle at all times.
DIST ANCE CONTROL ASSIST OPERA TION Always pay attention to the operation of the ve- hicle and be ready to manually decelerate to maintain the proper following distance. The Dis- tance Control Assist (DCA) system may not be able to decelerate the vehicle under some cir- cumstances.
The detection zone of the sensor is limited. A vehicle ahead must be in the detection zone for the system to operate. A vehicle ahead may move outside of the detec- tion zone due to its position within the same lane of travel. Motorcycles may not be detected in the same lane ahead if they are traveling offset from the centerline of the lane.
When driving on some roads, such as winding, hilly , curved, narrow roads, or roads which are under construction, the sensor may detect ve- hicles in a different lane, or may temporarily not detect a vehicle traveling ahead. This may cause the system to work inappropriately.
2. V ehicle ahead detection indicator: Indicates whether it detects a vehicle in front of you. T o turn on the DCA system, push the dynamic driver assistance switch 䊊 1 on the steering wheel after starting the engine. The Distance Control Assist (DCA) system switch indicator light 䊊 2 in the vehicle information display will illuminate.
For additional information on LDP and BSI, see “Lane Departure Warning (LDW) system/Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) system and Blind Spot W arning/Blind Spot Intervention” in this section.
System operation WARNING The Distance Control Assist system auto- matically decelerates your vehicle to help assist the driver to maintain a following distance from the vehicle ahead. Manually brake when deceleration is required to maintain a safe distance upon sudden braking by the vehicle ahead or when a vehicle suddenly appears in front of you.
Approach warning If your vehicle comes closer to the vehicle ahead due to rapid deceleration of that vehicle or if another vehicle cuts in, the system warns the driver with the chime and DCA system display. Decelerate by depressing the brake pedal to maintain a safe vehicle distance if: ● The chime sounds.
● When the VDC system is turned off ● When the VDC or ABS (including the trac- tion control system) operates ● When the SNOW mode switch is turned ON Action to take: When the conditions listed above are no longer present, turn the system off with the dynamic driver assistance switch.
If it is not possible to set the system or the indicator stays on, it may indicate that the system is malfunctioning. Although the ve- hicle is still driveable under normal condi- tions, have the vehicle checked at an INFINITI retailer.
PRECAUTIONS ON FCW S Y STEM WARNING ● The FCW system is intended to warn you before a collision occurs; it cannot prevent a collision. It is the driver’s re- sponsibility to stay alert, drive safely and be in control of the vehicle at all times. ● As there is a performance limit, the sys- tem may not provide a warning in cer- tain conditions.
– When there is a highly reflective ob- ject near the vehicle ahead (for ex- ample, being very close to another vehicle, signboard, etc .) – When you are towing a trailer.
FCW S Y STEM OPERA TION The FCW system is active at speeds of approxi- mately 10 MPH (15 km/h) and above, when the system turns on. The warning systems switch is used to turn on and off the FCW system when it is activated using the settings menu on the information dis- play .
The Intelligent Brake Assist (IBA) system warns the driver by a warning light and chime when there is a risk of a collision with the vehicle ahead in the traveling lane and the driver must take avoidance action immediately.
– Pedestrians, animals or obstacles in the roadway – Oncoming vehicles in the same lane ● The sensor generally detects the sig- nals returned from the vehicle ahead.
● The system is designed to automatically check the sensor’s functionality. When the sensor detects an obstruction of the radar signals due to dirt, adhesive ma- terial, or similar objects to the front bumper, the system will automatically cancel.
CAUTION During the first 1,200 miles (2,000 km), follow these recommendations to obtain maximum engine performance and ensure the future reliability and economy of your new vehicle. Failure to follow these rec- ommendations may result in shortened engine life and reduced engine performance.
7. Avoid Idling ● Shutting off your engine when safe for stops exceeding 30–60 seconds saves fuel and reduces emissions 8. Buy an Automated Pass for T oll Roads ● Automated passes permit drivers to use special lanes to maintain cruising speed through the toll and avoid stopping and starting 9.

5. Determine the combined weight of luggage and cargo being loaded on the vehicle. That weight may not safely exceed the available cargo and luggage load capacity calculated in Step 4. 6. If your vehicle will be towing a trailer, load from your trailer will be trans- ferred to your vehicle.
L OADING TIPS ● The GVW must not exceed GVWR or GA WR as specified on the F .M.V .S.S./C.M.V .S.S. certification label. ● Do not load the front and rear axle to the GAWR. Doing so will exceed the GVWR. WARNING ● Properly secure all cargo with ropes or straps to help prevent it from sliding or shifting.
MAXIMUM L OAD LIMITS Maximum trailer loads Never allow the total trailer load to exceed the value specified in the following T owing Load/Specification Chart found later in this sec- tion. The total trailer load equals trailer weight plus its cargo weight.
T ongue load When using a weight carrying or a weight distrib- uting hitch, keep the tongue load between 10 - 15 percent of the total trailer load or use the trailer tongue load specified by the trailer manu- facturer. The tongue load must be within the maximum tongue load limits shown in the follow- ing “T owing Load/Specification” chart.
T o determine the available towing capacity , use the following procedure. 1. Find the GCWR for your vehicle on the ⬙ T owing Load/Specification ⬙ chart found later in this section. 2. Subtract the actual vehicle weight from the GCWR. The remaining amount is the avail- able maximum towing capacity .
T OWING L OAD/SPECIFICA TION T OWING L OAD/SPECIFICA TION CHART U.S. and Canada Maximum T owing Capacity*1 5,000lb. (2,268 kg) Maximum T ongue Load 500 lb.
WARNING T railer hitch components have specific weight ratings. Y our vehicle may be ca- pable of towing a trailer heavier than the weight rating of the hitch components. Never exceed the weight rating of the hitch components. Doing so can cause serious personal injury or property damage.
WARNING Properly adjust the weight distributing hitch so the rear of the bumper is no higher than the measured reference height when the trailer is attached.
T railer brakes When towing a trailer load of 3,500 lbs. (1,587 kg) or more, trailers with a brake system MUST be used. However, most states require a separate braking system on trailers with a loaded weight above a specific amount. Make sure the trailer meets the local regulations and the regulations where you plan to tow.
2. Locate the jumper harness connector under the lower portion of the instrument panel. The connector is taped to the wiring harness 䊊 1 as indicated. ● The connector is marked with a white tag with “elec brake conn” . Wire color designation for electric trailer brake controller jumper harness.
● Always secure items in the trailer to prevent load shift while driving. ● Keep the cargo load as low as possible in the trailer to keep the trailer center of gravity low . ● Load the trailer so approximately 60% of the trailer load is in the front half and 40% is in the back half.
● While going downhill, the weight of the trailer pushing on the tow vehicle may de- crease overall stability. Therefore, to main- tain adequate control, reduce your speed and shift to a lower gear. Avoid long or repeated use of the brakes when descend- ing a hill, as this reduces their effectiveness and could cause overheating.
● When launching a boat, don’t allow the wa- ter level to go over the exhaust tail pipe or rear bumper. ● Make sure you disconnect the trailer lights before backing the trailer into the water or the trailer lights may burn out.
WARNING The traction grade assigned to this tire is based on straight-ahead braking traction tests, and does not include acceleration, cornering, hydroplaning, or peak traction characteristic s.
For USA If you believe that your vehicle has a de- fect which could cause a crash or could cause injury or death, you should immedi- ately inform the National Highway T raffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in addi- tion to notifying INFINITI.
WARNING A vehicle equipped with All -Wheel Drive (AWD) should never be tested using a two wheel dynamometer (such as the dyna- mometers used by some states for emis- sions testing) , or similar equipment. Make sure you inform the test facility personnel that your vehicle is equipped with AWD before it is placed on a dynamometer.
