6 Cloc k and Minute Minder T o Set Time of Day Step 1 Check that the electricity supply to the cooker is turned on. Step 2 When switched on the display will show 0.00 flashing intermittently . Step 3 Press the “ “ butt on and then press either the “+” or “-” buttons to set the correct time of day .
7 Cloc k and Minute Minder MINUTE MINDER OPERA TION T o Set the Minute Minder Step 1 Press the “+” butt on until the required time is set. A “Bell” symbol will light up . During setting the time adjusts in 10 second intervals up to a maximum of 99mins 50secs.
The hotplate lid is fitted with a saf ety device that will cut off the gas supply to the hotplate burners unless the lid is fully open. Also each burner is fitted with a safety de vice that will cut off the gas supply to it if the flame is extinguished f or any reason.

AB C CA UTION – ACCESSIBLE P ARTS MA Y BECOME HO T WHEN THE GRILL IS USED . Y OUNG CHILDREN SHOULD BE KEPT A W A Y . The grill is fitted with a safety de vice that will cut off the gas supply to the burner if the flame is e xtinguished for an y reason.
Grilling can be star ted from cold but f or best results preheat f or approximately two minutes. Most cooking is done with the heat on full, b ut it ma y be desirable to reduce it f or thicker pieces of meat or f or keeping f ood war m. F or au gratin dishes eg.
The main ov en is fitted with a safety de vice that will cut off the gas supply to the burner if the flame has been extinguished f or any reason. Each time the main ov en is used, the safety de vice has to be activated by pushing and holding in the control knob f or 3 seconds after the gas has lit.
COLD ST ART COOKING Anything requiring long slow cooking such as casseroles and rich fruit cakes can be put into a cold ov en. Satisfactory results can also be obtained with creamed mixture, rich pastries or yeast mixtures, b ut for perf ection we recommend pre- heating the ov en for about 15 min utes at the gas mar k you require f or cooking.

The top ov en can be used to cook small quantities of food or used in conjunction with the main ov en to provide additional cooking space. The top ov en is fitted with a safety de vice that will cut off the gas supply to the burner if the flame is extinguished f or any reason.
T O USE THE T OP O VEN 1. Check that the heat shield is fitted to the shelf . 2. Place the top ov en shelf in the appropriate position (refer to cooking char t). 3. Press in the ignition button and then push in and turn the control knob fully anti-clockwise .

Switch off the electricity supply and allo w to cool before c leaning the cooker . Clean the cooker regularly and wipe up spills soon after the y occur to prevent them from becoming b urnt on.
COOKER FINISH CLEANING METHOD Vitreous Enamel Door inner panels, pan suppor ts, burner caps, roasting dish, grill pan, main ov en base, inside of grill compar tment. Cloth wrung out in warm soapy water . Stubborn stains can be remov ed with a cream paste, liquid cleaner or by rubbing with fine steel wool soap pads.
PROBLEM Before contacting y our Service Centre or Installer , chec k the p roblem guide below , there may be nothing wrong with y our cooker . CHECK Bur ner will not light: Bur ner por ts Ignitor Bur .
Oven lamp does not work. The o ven lamp is not co vered by the guar antee. The par t is easily changed (see the section on ov en lamp replacement). A new lamp ma y be obtained from our Parts depar tment, see Ke y Contacts (back page). PROBLEM CHECK Slight odour or small amount of smoke when grill / oven used first time.
Prior to installation, ensure that the local distr ibution conditions (nature of the gas and gas pressure) and the adjustment conditions are compatible . The adjustment conditions f or this appliance are stated on the data badge which is fitted on the back panel.

UNP A CKING THE COOKER Unpack the components from inside the g r ill and ov en. Check that the f ollowing par ts are present: Grill pan and grid T op oven/g r ill shelf heat shield P an suppor ts Main.
CONNECTING T O GAS SUPPL Y Connection to the cooker m ust only be made with an approved appliance fle xible connection to BS 669. A length of 0.9 to 1.25m is recommended. The length of hose chosen should be such that when the cooker is in situ, the hose does not touch the floor .
Connection to the electricity supply should be made via a proper ly ear thed, readily accessible wall soc ket which is adjacent to but not directly abo ve, and not more than 1.25m a wa y from the appliance and capable of electrical isolation. The mains lead should be routed such that it cannot touch hot par ts of the cooker i.
INST ALLA TION AND OPERA TIONAL CHECKS After installation, check f or gas soundness. The supply pressure can be check ed at the front left hotplate burner injector . Fit the hotplate burner bodies and caps, pan suppor ts and shelf shield(s). Ref err ing to the instructions for use where necessary , 1.
31 T o minimise the risk of injur y to children please dispose of yo ur product carefully and safely . Remove all doors and lids. Remove the mains cable (where fitt ed) by cutting off flush with the appliance and always ensur e that no plug is lef t in a condition where it could be connected to the electricity supply .
