Do not clean the door gasket . The door gasket is essential for a good seal. Care should be taken not to rub, damage or move the gask et . Clean only parts listed in this O wner ’s Manual.

The use of undersized cookwar e will expose a portion of the sur face unit to direct contact and may result in ignition of clothing. Proper relationship of cookware to surface unit will also improve efficiency .

The cooktop can be scratched with items such as sharp instruments, rings or other jewelry and rivets on clothing. Large scratches or impacts to glass doors or cooktops can lead to brok en or shattered glass.

About the radiant surface units… The radiant cooktop features heating units beneath a smooth glass surface. NO TE: A slight odor is normal when a new cooktop is used for the f irst time. It is caused by the heating of new parts and insulating materials and will disappear in a short time.

12 To av oid possible burns , place the racks in the desired position befor e you turn the oven on. The racks have stop-locks, so that when placed correctly on the rack supports (A through E), they will stop befor e coming completely out , and will not tilt .
Preheat the oven if the r ecipe calls for it . T o preheat , set the oven at the correct temperature. Pr eheating is necessary for good results when baking cakes, cookies, pastry and breads. On some models , the display will show “PRE” while preheating.

Not all features ar e on all models . T o Set the Timer The timer does not control oven operations . The maximum setting on the timer is 9 hours and 59 minutes . T ouch the KITCHEN TIMER ON/OFF or TIMER ON/OFF pad. T ouch the + or – pads until the amount of time you want shows in the display.

(on some models) T o Reset the Timer If the display is still showing the time remaining, you may change it by touching the KITCHEN TIMER ON/OFF or TIMER ON/OFF pad, then touch the + or – pads until the time you want appears in the display.
Do not lock the oven door with the latch during timed cooking. The lat ch is used for self -cleaning only . NO TE: Foods that spoil easily—such as milk , eggs , f ish, stuf f ings , poultry and pork—should not be allowed to sit for more than 1 hour befor e or af ter cooking .
18 Y our new touch pad control has additional featur es that you may choose to use. The following are the features and how you may activate them. The special feature modes can only be activ ated while the display is showing the time of day . They remain in the control’s memory until the steps are r epeated.
19 The Sabbath feature can be used for baking/r oasting only. It cannot be used for broiling, self -cleaning or Delay Start cooking . NO TE: The oven light comes on automatically (on some models) when the door is opened and goes of f when the door is closed.
Using the Sabbath Featur e. (on some models) (Designed for use on the Jewish Sabbath and Holidays) How to Exit the Sabbath Feature T ouch the CLEAR/OFF pad. If the oven is cooking, wait for a random delay period of approximately 30 seconds to 1 minute, until only ⊃ is in the display.
Y ou may f ind that your new oven cooks differently than the one it replaced. Use your new oven for a few weeks to become more familiar with it . If you still think your new oven is too hot or t oo cold, you can adjust the thermostat yourself.
22 Using the warming drawer . (on some models) When Using the Warming Drawer The warming drawer will keep hot , cooked foods at serving temperature. Always star t with hot food. Do not use to heat cold food other than crisping crackers, chips or dry cereal.
23 GEAppliances.com T emperatur e Selection Chart The temperature, type and amount of food, and the time held will affect the quality of the food. Food in heat-safe glass and glass-ceramic utensils may need a higher control setting as compared to food in metal utensils.
For the first self-clean cycle, we r ecommend venting your kitchen with an open window or using a ventilation fan or hood. Remove the racks, any broiler pan, br oiler grid, all cookwar e and any aluminum foil from the oven. The oven racks can be self-cleaned, but they will darken, lose their luster and become hard to slide.
25 The oven door must be closed and all controls set corr ectly for the cycle t o work properly. After a Clean Cycle Y ou cannot set the oven for cooking until the oven is cool enough for the door to be unlatched. Y ou may notice some white ash in the oven.
The oven door is remov able for cleaning. Do not lif t the door by the handle. Make sure the oven is completely cool. T o remove the door , open it to the special stop position. Grasp firmly on each side and lift the door straight up and off the hinges.
CA UTION: Before replacing your oven light bulb, turn the oven light off and disconnect the electrical power to the range at the main fuse or circuit br eaker panel. Be sure to let the light cover and bulb cool completely. T o remove the cov er : Hold a hand under the cover so it doesn’t fall when released.
28 T o remove the storage drawer: Pull the drawer out all the way. Tilt up the front and r emove it . T o replace the storage drawer : Insert glides at the back of the drawer beyond the stop on range glides. Lift the drawer if necessary to insert easily.
GEAppliances.com 29 Warming Drawer Rack (on some models) Clean the rack with detergent and water . After cleaning, rinse the rack with clean water and dry with a clean cloth. Removable Warming Drawer (on some models) Most cleaning can be done with the drawer in place.
30 Car e and cleaning of the range. Be sure all the contr ols are turned to OFF and the surface units are cool before attempting to remove them. T o clean the surface units, turn the control to the highest setting for a minute. The coils will burn off any soil.
31 GEAppliances.com Painted surfaces include the sides of the range and the sides of the door trim. T o clean the painted surfaces, use a hot , damp cloth with a mild detergent suitable for these surfaces. Use a clean, hot , damp cloth to remove soap .
32 Cleaning the glass cooktop. (on some models) Allow the cooktop to cool. Use a single-edge razor blade scraper at approximately a 45° angle against the glass surface and scrape the soil. It will be necessary to apply pressur e to the razor scraper in order to remove the r esidue.
