7 CL OCKF A CE The timer incorporates a 24 hour clock. Ensure the correct time of day is alw ays set , before using your cooker. SYMBOLS A ‘bell’ symbol will light up when you select a M inute Minder Pe riod and will remain lit for the period set.
8 SETTING THE TIME OF DA Y Step 1 Make sure all oven controls ar e turned Off. Step 2 Check the electricity supply to the cooker is turned on. Step 3 When switched on the display will show 0.00 and the A uto symbol , flashing intermittently . Step 4 Press & hold in both the C ook Period & End Time buttons togethe r.
9 Step 3 Press and hold in the C ook Period button. The display will read 0.00 with the ‘ cookpot ’ symbol lit. Step 4 With the Cook P eriod button still held in, set the required Cook Per io d using the “+” and “–” buttons.
10 Step 4 Press & hold in the C ook Period button, the display will read 0.00 and the ‘ cookpot ’ symbol will light up. With the Cook P eriod button still held in set the required Cook P er iod using the “+” and “–” buttons. Example: 1hr 30 minutes (as shown).
11 O THER NOTES ON TIMER OPERA TION 1. When cooking Automatically the Cook P eriod can be check ed at an y time simply by pressing the Cook Period button. 2. When cooking Automatically the End Time can be checked at any t ime by simply pressing the End T ime button.
CL OCKF A CE The timer incorporates a 24 hour clock. SYMBOLS A ‘Bell’ symbol will light up when you select a Minute Minder Pe riod and will remain lit for the period set. At the end of the Minute Minder Period , the timer will emit an audible tone and the ‘B ell’ symbol will disappear .
Here you can set a time period of up to 10 hours , that will coun t do wn. When it reaches zero , the timer will emit an audible tone. For Example: If you set 20 minutes, the audible tone will occur 20 minutes later . SET TING THE MINUTE MINDER Step 1 Ensure the time of day is set correctly .
The hotplate lid is fitted with a saf et y device which cuts off the gas supply to the hotplate burners unless the lid is fully open. Do not use the sa fety device as a means of controlling the hotplat e burners.
15 SAFET Y REQUIREMENTS FOR DEEP F A T FR YING 1. Never fill chip pans more than one third full with oil or fa t . 2. Never leav e oil or fat unattended during the heating or cooli ng period. 3. Never heat fat or fry with a lid on the pan. 4. Always dry food thoroughly bef ore frying, and lower it slowly int o the hot oil or fat.
16 T O USE THE GRILL 1. Open the grill/top oven door and plac e the shelf in the requi red position. 2. T urn the grill control knob clock wise to 4 for full width grilling or anticlockwise for the half grill. 3. Slide the grill pan toward the back of the grill compartment until it stops.
17 O VENS Both ovens ha ve a thermostat light that will illuminate un til the oven has reached the set temperature . It will then switch off and on during cooking a s the thermostat maintains the temperature . Each shelf has a safety stop to prev ent it from being pulled ou t too far when attending to food .
O VEN C OOKING CHART Beef/ Lamb (slow roasting) Meat 170/180 35 mins per 450g (1lb) + 35 mins over . Runner 1 from bottom of oven. 35-40 mins per 450g (1lb) 40 mins per 450g (1lb) + 40 mins over 40 mi.
Note: I f soft margarine is used for cake making, temperatures recommended by the manufacturers should be followed . The ‘S’ setting on the main oven thermostat can be used f or slow cookin g. PREP ARING FOOD FOR SL OW COOKING 1. All dishes cooked by the ‘S’ setting should be cooked for a minimum 6 hours . They will ‘hold ’ at this setting for a further hour but marked deterioration in appearance will be noticed in some cases.
Switch off the electricity supply and allow to c ool before cleaning the cooker . Clean the cooker r egularly and wipe up spills soon after they occur to prev ent them from becoming burnt on.
22 CARE AND CLEANING C OOKER FINISH CLEANING METHOD Vitreous Enamel Hotplate (EG54, EG73), pan supports, burner caps, roasting dish, grill pan, main oven base , inside of grill compartment. Cloth wrung out in warm soapy water . Stubborn stains can be remov ed with a cream paste, liquid cleaner or by rubbing with fine steel wool soap pads.

DISPOSAL OF YOUR PRODUCT : T o minimise the risk to injury to children please dispose of your product carefully and safely . Remove all doors and lids (where fitt ed).
Prior to installation, ensure that the local distribution conditions (nature of the gas and gas pressure) and the adjustment conditions ar e compatible. The adjustment conditions for this appliance ar e stated on the rating label which is fitted on the back panel.

SP A CE FOR FIXING The cooker can be close fitted below hotplat e level. This requires a minimum distance of 600mm between cupboard units of hotplat e height. When installing next to a tall cupboard , par tition or wall, for a minimum distance of 400mm abov e hotplate level, allow a side clearanc e of at least 65mm.
LEVELLING T wo rear wheels and two front feet are fitted which can be adjust ed up or down to set the height (915mm) and level the cooker . 1. The rear wheels can be raised or low ered from the BACK of the c ooker by adjusting the levelling screws ‘ A ’ in the plinth.
