6 TERMINOLOGY T erminology Since they share some of the characteristics and technology of CD players , many of the terms and operational concepts used in a DVD player are similar to what you may be familiar with from CD players and changers , or older video disc formats such as Laser Disc.

T he Kit contains two pairs of gloves , that can be used to unpack the LCD screen without damaging its frame nor leaving fingerprints on it.
20 INST ALLATION AND CONNECTIONS Connecting a PC If you wish to connect your PC to the screen, the best way is to connect the DVI output of the com- puter to the DVI Input K on the rear panel of the screen. At the same time connect the audio output of your computer to the PC Audio Input I on the rear panel of the screen.

22 PLA YBACK B ASICS Playback Basics For analog tuner: proceed as follows: When you press the Enter Button 6 to confirm, the automatic channel search will start to scan the available TV channels . T he automatic search can tak e several minutes , depending on the num- ber of channels that are available .

26 SY STEM SETUP System Setup TV Set Up T he TV Set Up Menu contains 2 submenus . Each submenu can be selected by moving the blue bar with the KL Buttons 9 until the requested submenu is highlighted and pressing the Enter Button 6 to confirm. T he selected submenu will be mark ed by a light blue circle behind the submenu text line .
SY STEM SETUP 27 ENGLISH System Setup Automatic Search (F or analog TV only) T he Automatic Search Menu allows you to auto- matically search for available TV channels . With the TV Set Up Menu on the screen, press the L Button 9 until the Automatic Search text line is highlighted.
28 SY STEM SETUP System Setup Edit Channel List (For analog TV only) T he last submenu in the TV Set Up Menu is the Edit Channel List Menu that allows you to mak e adjustments to the order of the TV channels. With the TV Set Up Menu on the screen, press the L Button 9 until the Edit Channel List text line is highlighted.
SY STEM SETUP 29 ENGLISH System Setup DVI Set Up T o access the DVI Set Up Menu, press the TV Button 0 followed by the Set Up Button 8 . Move the cursor to the right using the N Button 9 until the DVI tab is highlighted in dark blue . T he DVI Set Up Menu contains 2 submenus .
Show Logo: Defines whether the Harman Kardon Digital Lounge splash screen will be shown each time the system is turned on. Should you wish to change the Show Logo Setting, press the Enter Button 6 once the Show Logo line is highlighted. T he blue bar will disappear and the rest of the settings will fade out.
SY STEM SETUP 31 ENGLISH System Setup Dynamic Range: T his setting allows you to tak e advantage of the progr amming present on some Dolby Digital recordings to reduce the volume of louder passages while maintaining intelligibility of quieter passages .
32 SY STEM SETUP Step 5: T he first two screens of the EzSet/EQ system will now appear to remind you to connect all the loudspeak ers and to plug in the micro- phone . If you have not already done so , connect all loudspeak ers and plug the microphone into the Headphone Jack 4 as described in steps 2 and 3.

36 TEST SCREEN T est Screen Picture Calibration Using the supplied T est Disc When doing the calibration first insert the disc in the slot loader 6 . T he disc will start reading, and a main menu will appear on the screen. Select the test pattern required using the K or L Buttons 9 .

RADIO MENU 39 ENGLISH 4. Pressing the search G / H button HJ will scan the FM band for the first available radio station with acceptable reception. T he scan will stop once a station is found and the name of the station will be displayed (as long as RDS is transmitted by the station).
