DESCRIPTION, FEATURES, and INmALLATION DESCRIPTION The AD1562 DnoTect-C is a video motion detection system for use with one or two cameras surveying indoor or outdoor scenes. Individual programmable detection zones optimize motion detection for each camera scene.

CONNECTIONS and FRONT PANEL CONTROLS RS-232 Output An &pin modular type RJ-45 jack labeled RS-232 is provided on the rear panel for transmission of alarm codes to AD Matrix Switchers/Controllers.
SETUP SETUP The AD1562 DuoTect-C provides on-screen menus which are used to set the operating parameters for the system and the detection parameters for each video channel. The DuoTect-C menu system is passcode protected. All setup menus and selections are controlled by the buttons on the DuoTect-C front panel.
SETUP . Motion Detection P-et ers Scene Retention Sensitivity Horizontal/Vertical Adjacency Zone 1,2, and 3 Enabled Zone 1-2 and 2-1 Crossed View Obstruction Motion Detection Parameters Motion detection in the DuoTect-C is controlled by setting several parameters which establish the criteria for detected motion in each video channel.
SETUP Alarm Operation Parameters The following paragraphs describe several parameters which control the DuoTect-C response to detected alarms. The channel setup menus, pages 10 and 12, provide procedures to set these parameters in either of the setup modes.
SETUP SET SYSTEM PARAMETERS The SET SYSTEM PARAMETERS menu is used to set general system operating parameters. When this setup option is selected from the Main Menu, the following System Parameters menu is displayed, showing the current parameter settings.
SETUP TRACE FADE RATE OUTPUT BAUD RATE The TRACE FADE RATE parameter establish the rate at The OUTPUT BAUD RATE parameter sets the baud rate for which the Detection Trace dots (see Detection Trace, pa.
SETUP DYNAMIC SETUP Dynamic Setup allows operator selection of the detection parameters for analysis of each video input frame. This setup function is executed by selecting the SET UP CHANNEL ONE (or CHANNHL TWO) Main Menu option (page 4), when the menu CURRENT MODE is set to DYNAMIC.
SETUP Setting Channel Dynamic Attributes Setting channel Dynamic attributes is the second setup procedure of the Dynamic mode setup. A Channel Setup menu for Dynamic attributes is displayed following completion of the Configure Detection Zones setup procedures (page 9).
SETUP Setting Channel Detection Modes DETECTION TRACE Setting Channel Detection Modes is the last setup procedure of the Dynamic Setup function. A Channel Detection Modes menu is displayed following completion of the Channel Dynamic Attributes procedures (page 10).
SETUP GUARDIAN SETUP Guardian Setup establishes the DuoTect-C parameters for comparing video input frames to a stored, static image for a specified level of change in picture content. This setup function is executed by selecting the SET UP CHANNEL ONE (or TWO) option from the Main Menu (page 4) when the system is set for Guardian mode.
SETUP Channel Guardian Setup Channel Guardian Setup is the second setup procedure of the Guardian Setup function. A Channel Guardian Setup menu is displayed following the Contigure Channel Detection Zones procedure, page 12. This menu, illustrated below, is used to set all motion detection characteristics and responses for the selected channel.
SETUP BEEPER The audio BEEPER provides an audible alarm when a motion detection alarm is activated. When alarms are enabled and valid motion is detected in a cell, the audible alarm indication sounds if it is enabled (ON). The default BEEPER setting is OFF, disabled.
SETUP SET NEW PASSCODE The Passcode feature provides security from unauthorized access to the setup menus. As delivered, the system is set to a default Passcode of “1324”. To access the DuoTect-C menus, this passcode must be entered before the Main Menu is displayed (see page 4).
OPERATION OPERATION Power Up Diagnostics There is no power on/off switch on the DuoTect-C. When the unit is plugged into the power source, power is applied.
OPERATION Alarm Response When alarms are enabled, an alarm is triggered when motion is detected in accordance with the setup parameters for the selected mode. Dvnamic Mode If the motion satisfies the Retention, Sensitivity, and Adjacency criteria (page 10).

APPENDIX.
SYSTEM CONSIDERATIONS SYSTEM CONSIDERATIONS Motion detectors operate on the principle that any change in the camera scene is caused by a moving object. Motion detectors monitor the content of a camera scene within a sensitized area and detect differences in the scene content from one video frame to the next.
SYSTEM CONSIDERATIONS The performance of various camera-lens combinations at different light levels may be obtained from the manufacturer’s data. For optimum performance, the DuoTect-C requires a moderately noise-free video signal at industry standard voltage levels.
SCENE MANAGEMENT SCENE MANAGEMENT To obtain the maximum performance from the AD1562 DuoTect-C system, it is necessary to take certain precautions in camera and scene management that vastly reduce the number of nuisance alarms. Methods for dealing with common scene problems are described below.
SCENE MANAGEMENT Areas Where Movement is Permitted Areas within a scene where movement may legitimately occur must he free of Detection Zones to prevent the DuoTect-C from alarming unnecessarily. Remove branches of trees and other plant material close to the camera.
