■ Never leave the sur face units unattended at high heat settings. Boilovers cause smoking and greasy spillovers that may catch on fire. ■ Do not use aluminum foil to line the drip pans or anywhere in the oven except as described in this manual. Misuse could result in a shock, fire hazard or damage to the range.
SURF ACE COOKING UNITS (cont.) ■ Do not immerse or soak the removable sur face units. Do not put them in a dishwasher . Do not self-clean the sur face units in the oven.

6 Oven Control, Clock and T imer Features and Settings BAKE/TEMP RECALL Pad T ouch this pad to select the bake function. BAKE Light Flashes while in edit mode—you can change the oven temperature at this point. Glows when the oven is in bake mode. ST ART/ON Pad Must be touched to start any cooking or cleaning function.

Y ou can use aluminum foil to line the broiler pan and broiler grid. However , you must mold the foil tightly to the grid and cut slits in it just like the grid.

15 Using the self-cleaning oven. ge.com Before a Clean Cycle W e recommend venting your kitchen with an open window or using a ventilation fan or hood during the first self-cleaning cycle. Remove the broiler pan, broiler grid, all cookware and any aluminum foil from the oven.
16 How to Delay the Start of Cleaning (on some models) Make sure the clock shows the correct time of day . Latch the door . T ouch the SELF CLEAN pad. Using the + or – pads, enter the desired clean time. T ouch the ST ART TIME pad. The earliest start time you can set will appear in the display .
