Floor Pl ans A floor plan should be a recogni zable overhead representation of a facility . T hese wi ndows are built u sing the GE Floor Plan wizards, described in Chapter 2. They can be made as detailed or as sim ple as desired. The exam ple below sh ows an ov erview of a facility , showing all of th e areas co ntaining eq uipmen t.
PMCS Interface Toolkit Electrical One-Line Diagrams One-line diag rams are bu ilt by placing an d linking circuit elem ents using the On e- Line w izards, then creating scripts to provide animation for those w izards w hose status can be determined or controlled, s uch as breakers an d sw itches.
{ Set values of local discrete variables based on state of integer status of breaker. This section sets the breaker status memory discretes to true if the breaker’s analog status value is 3 (closed).
PMCS Interface Toolkit { set the bus status for the incoming feeds to the dependent bus below in the distribution hierarchy. The IF_THEN statements in this section traverse the hierarchy from top to bottom, left to right, and then bottom to top, right to left.
Sample Application Creating a basic interface We’ve learned about the various parts and pieces of the In terface T oolkit; now let’ s put it to work. Suppose w e have a v ery basic pow er man agem ent sy stem in stalled at our corporate home off ice.
PMCS Interface Toolkit First, w e’ll create all our new window s and nam e them, then we’ll go back an d flesh them out with their con tents and add links betw een them .
We’ll include a note about the panelboard’s location, describing w here to find the real panel, and also a n ote of instru ction: “Click a devi ce to see the large faceplate screen.” Create the link s to the device screens by double-clickin g on each s mall faceplate and entering th e name of th e device’s Large Faceplate s creen.
PMCS Interface Toolkit Now we’ll develop the PQM Tabular dat a screen. S elect the PQM Tab w indow and use the Wizards tool to place the PQM Tabular Data wi zard on the screen. Double click the w izard and fill in the Device Nam e and the T rending w indows as show n below.
Complete th e application by developing the Faceplate and Tabular screens for each of the four trip units an d that’s it — w e’ve just developed a P MCS application using the GE Wonderw are Wizards.
