16 How to Set the Upper Oven for Baking or Roasting T ouch the BAKE pad. T ouch the number pads to set the desired temperatur e. T ouch the ST AR T pad. The word ON and 100° will be displayed. As the oven heats up, the display will show the changing temperature.
17 geappliances. ca How to Set the Upper Oven for Broiling—Close the oven door Place the meat or fish on a broiler grid in a broiler pan. Follow suggested rack positions in the Broiling Guide. The oven door must be closed during broiling. T ouch the BROIL HI/LO pad once for HI Broil.
If a flashing time is in the display , you have experienced a power failure. Reset the clock. T o reset the clock, touch the CLOCK pad. Enter the correct time of day by touching the appropriate number pads. T ouch the ST AR T pad. 18 Make sure the clock is set to the correct time of day .
19 NO TE: Foods that spoil easily—such as milk , eggs , f ish, stuff ings , poultry and pork—should not be allowed to sit for more than 1 hour befor e or af t er cooking . Room temperature promotes the growth of harmful bacteria. Be sure that the oven light is off because heat from the bulb will speed harmful bacteria growth.
20 Use of probes other than the one pr ovided with this product may r esult in damage to the probe. Use the handles of the probe and plug when inserting and removing them from the food and outlet . n To avoid damaging your pr obe, do not use tongs to pull on the cable when removing it .
21 Using the convection ov en. geappliances. ca The convection oven fan shuts off when the oven door is opened . DO NO T leave the door open for long periods of time while using convection cooking. T o help you understand the difference between convection bake and roast and traditional bake and roast , here are some general guidelines.
22 When convection baking with only 1 rack, follow the rack positions recommended in the Using the Oven section. Using the convection ov en. Multi-Rack Baking Because heated air is circulated evenly throughout the oven, foods can be baked with excellent results using multiple racks.

The special feature modes can only be activ ated while the display is showing the time of day . They remain in the control’s memory until the steps are r epeat ed.

If you would prefer to have a 24 hour military time clock or black-out the clock display, follow the steps below . T ouch the BAKE and BR OIL HI/LO pads at the same time for 3 seconds until the display shows SF .

29 Y ou may f ind that your new oven cooks differently than the one it r eplaced. Use your new oven for a few weeks to become more familiar with it . If you still think your new oven is t oo hot or too cold , you can adjust the thermostat yourself.
30 Using the lower ov en drawer . T o Use the Lower Oven Drawer Push in and turn the lower oven drawer knob to any desired setting. Allow the lower oven drawer to preheat . n The ON signal light is located on the upper right side of the knob and glows when the knob is in the ON position.
31 The oven door must be closed and all controls set corr ectly for the cycle t o work properly. Before a Clean Cycle For the first self-clean cycle, we r ecommend venting your kitchen with an open window or using a ventilation fan or hood. Remove broiler pan, br oiler grid, probe, all cookwar e and any aluminum foil from the oven.
32 The oven door must be closed and all controls set corr ectly for the cycle t o work properly. After a Clean Cycle Y ou may notice some white ash in the oven. Wipe it up with a damp cloth after the oven cools. If white spots remain, remove them with a soap-f illed scouring pad and rinse thoroughly with a vinegar and water mixtur e.
33 Car e and cleaning of the range. geappliances. ca Be sure electrical power is off and all surfaces are cool before cleaning any part of the range. If your range is removed for cleaning, ser vicing or any reason, be sure the anti-tip device is re-engaged pr operly when the range is replaced.
Oven Heating Elements Do not clean the bake element or the broil element . Any soil will burn of f when the elements are heated. T o clean the oven floor , gently lift the bake element . Clean with warm soapy water . Lift-Off Oven Door The oven door is removable, but it is heavy.
35 geappliances. ca Removable Lower Ov en Drawer Most cleaning can be done with the drawer in place. However , the drawer may be removed if further cleaning is needed. Use soap and warm water to thor oughly clean. T o remove the draw er : Pull the drawer straight out until it stops.
Oven Contr ol Panel Lock out the touch pads before cleaning. See the Range Lockout information in the Special features of your oven contr ol section in this manual. Clean up splatters with a damp cloth. Y ou may also use a glass cleaner . Remove heavier soil with warm soapy water .
37 geappliances. ca Oven Light Replacement CA UTION: Before r eplacing your oven light bulb, disconnect the electrical power to the range at the main fuse or circuit br eaker panel . Be sure to let the light cover and bulb cool completely. The oven light bulb is covered with a removable glass cover that is held in place with a bail-shaped wire.
38 Cleaning the glass cooktop. Allow the cooktop to cool. Use a single-edge razor blade scraper at approximately a 45° angle against the glass surface and scrape the soil. It will be necessary to apply pressure to the razor scraper in order to remove the r esidue.
