3 Introduction Thank you for purchasing the GE model 45608 R emote Control. This remote allows you to contr ol up to 12 Audio/Video devices as well as your Z-Wave Home Lighting Contr ol network. A Z-Wave home control network can include up to 232 Z-Wav e enabled devices.

9 Changing a Device Code NO TE: All settings of the current device (Key Mover , Learning, and all other user-pr ogrammed features) will be retained. 1. From INITIAL SETUP press OK . T he remote displ ays ADD DEVICE . Use t he ARROW keys to scrol l to CHANGE DEVICE CODE .

Replacing a Device This replaces an existing device with a new device in your r emote’s programming. One example could be r eplacing your cable box with a satellite receiver .

18 Deleting a Single Learned Key T o delete a single learned key, follow steps 1–3 above. Then perform the following steps: 1. Press t he key containing the l earne d func tio n to be del eted. T he remo te displays KEY DELE T ED PUSH OK TO DELE T E ANOTHER .
19 Resetting the Remote Resetting All Audio/Video Featur es Y ou can reset all the remote’s pr ogramming, including Key Mover , Key Macro , Learning, and Volume Lock, except for device codes. T o reset all programming, perform the following steps: 1.
20 Z-Wave Ov er view Please note: The terms “Device” , “Node” and “Light” all refer to an individual Z-Wave enabled device in your home control network and are interchangeable within the context of these instructions. If this remote is used as the primary contr oller , you must use it to create your contr ol network.
21 Z-Wave T erminology Primary Controller : This is the main device used to set up and control your Z-Wav e network. There can only be one primary controller and it must be used to add or delete devices.
22 Wireless Range This device complies with the Z-Wave standard of open-air , line of sight transmission distances of 65 feet . Actual performance in a home depends on the number of walls between the r emote controller and the destination device, the type of construction and the number of Z-Wave enabled devices installed in the control network.

42 Resetting Y our Network Y ou can reset your netw ork to clear all device and Z-Wave network information from the r emote. This does not reset the Z-Wave devices to their factory default . Each device still needs to be deleted in order to r eset them.
43 Network Update This function only works if y ou have a Static Update Controller (SUC) in your network. An SUC is permanently installed in a specific location and helps maintain up-to-date “neighbor lists” and routing tables for your control netw ork .
