1 Installing the Phone Installing the Handset Battery NOTE: Y ou must connect the handset battery before use. CAUTION: T o reduce the risk of r e or personal injury, use only the Thomson Inc. approved Nickel-metal Hydride battery (Ni-MH) battery model 5-2840, that is compatible with this unit .
1 Base Station 1. Choose an area near an electrical outlet and a telephone wall jack (RJ11C), and place your cordless telephone on a level surface, such as a desktop or tabletop, or you may mount it on the wall. . Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack on the back of the base and the other end into a modular jack.
14 Programming the T elephone Standby Screen The handset displays the handset number and user name. Programming Functions The system uses a menu structure to give you access to all of the built -in features. Y ou may program the following items in main menu: Phone book, Room Monitor , Alarm Clock, Initial Setup, Sound Setup, Reset Settings.

0 Global De-registration If one or more handsets become lost , you should de-register all handsets to ensure proper system operation. W ARNING: It is not recommended that a handset be de-registered.

Handset The T ALK/SPE AKER indicator buttons ash when you receive a call and r emain lit during a call. The keypad and CID will also light when a call is received.
4 Answering Calls 1. When the phone rings, pick up the handset and press the T ALK/SPE AKER button. . When nished, press END button to hang up. - OR - If the auto talk mode is selected, pick up the handset from the charge cradle to answer the call immediately.

6 Page The page feature helps you locate a misplaced handset . To send and receiv e pages, all handsets must be registered. If y our handset is not registered, follow the instructions in the Registration section of this manual. 8 Advanced Intercom Featur es Receiving an Incoming Call During an Intercom Call If you receive a telephone call during an inter com call, an incoming call alert tone will be heard (through the earpiece or speaker). 9 T roubleshooting Guide Caller ID Solutions No Display • The battery must be fully charged. Try replacing the battery. • Make sure that the unit is connected to a non-switched electrical outlet . Disconnect the unit from the wall and plug it in again.
