9 Fix the po wer cable with the clip . The power cable must be long enough to allow the appliance to be extracted from the cabinet to fill the coff ee bean container . 15 Installing the filter Some models are fitted with a water softener filter to impr ove the quality of the water used and extend the working life of the appliance. T o install, proceed as follo ws: 1 Remove the filter from the packaging; 2 Slide the date indicator pointer (see fig.
16 Replacing the filter (“FIL TER RESET ”) When “REPLACE FIL TER” is displayed or after 2 months of use (see date indicator), the filter must be replaced: 1 Remove the exhausted filter; 2 Remove the new filter from the packaging. 3 Slide the pointer of the date indicator (see fig.
17 Each time the appliance is turned on, it performs an automatic preheat and rinse cycle which cannot be interrupted. The appliance is ready for use only after completion of this cycle. Impor tant! Be careful. During rinsing , a little hot water flows from the c offee spouts.

28 Descaling Impor tant! F ailure to descale the appliance regularly v oids the warranty . Descaler contains acids. R espect the safet y w arnings provided by the manufacturer and given on the descaler pack. Use the descaler recommended b y the manufacturer only .
29 Statistics This displays statistics r elating to the machine.
