2 Safety and warnings Impor tant safet y precautions For y our sa fety , follow basic precautions when using y our dishw asher , including the following: Please read all instructions before operating your dishw asher.
3 Safety and warnings Installation This dishw asher must be installed and positioned in accordanc e with the ‘Installation instructions’ before it is used.
4 Installation instructions Before y ou star t These instructions are intended as a guide only . I t is the responsibility of the plumber and electrician to ensure that each installation complies with the Government and local go vernment by-laws . Check packaging and dishwasher immediately for signs of transport damage.
5 Installation instructions Plumbing Drainage The recommended method of installation is sho wn in diagrams 1,2 and 3. The diagrams are designed to eliminate problems that oc cur with combined sink – dishwasher wast e systems. The standpipe must have a minimum diamet er of 38 mm and stand 750mm above the floor .
6 Installation instructions W ater inlet connections The dishwasher has a single valv e water connection. We recommend a cold wat er connection to give the best wash performance and energy efficiency . Impor tant! The appliance should be connected to the w ater main using a new hose set.
7 Installation instructions If the electrical socket to which the appliance must be connected is not appropriate for the plug , replace the whole cable, rather than using adapt ors as they could cause overheating and burns.

10 Using y our dishwasher If you hav e forgott en to load some dishes T o pause a wash pr ogramme (DW60CD models only) 1 Press the P ower button. 2 Open the door slowly . Impor tant! There is a risk of being sprayed with hot w ater. Do not open the door fully until the spray arm has stopped rotating.
11 Using y our dishwasher If you want a progr amme to start later Delay start (DW60CD models only) This featur e can delay the start of a wash programme from 1 to 12 hours. T o activate the delay start: 1 Ensure you hav e loaded all the dishes, added detergent, and closed the door .
12 Selec ting a wash progr amme PROGRAMME HEA VY DUTY NORMAL NORMAL EC O DELICA TE * F AST RINSE What load should I use it for? Heavily soiled pots, pans, and dishes. Dishes with normal soils for optimum wash and dry per formance . Normally soiled dishes for optimum energy usage.
13 Caring f or your dinnerware The combination of high temperatur es and dishwasher detergent ma y cause damage to some items if they are washed in your dish washer . Remember , if in doubt about any items to be washed in the dishwasher , follow the instructions from the manufacturer of the items , or wash them by hand.
14 Dishw asher standards test This dishwasher is test ed to AS/NZS 2007 standards f or both wash and dry per formance. The following ar e loading pattern diagrams, det ergent quantities and rinse aid quantities used for the dishwasher .
15 T ake care when loading dishes to ensur e that there is enough space and room f or the water to reach all areas , particularly the cup racks. If there are any items blocking the spray arms’ paths or the wash water , then the per formance will be ineff ective.
16 Loading How to load the upper rack The upper rack is designed to hold items like glasses , cups, saucers, plates, small bowls and shallow pans. P osition these items so that they cannot be moved during the wash.
17 Detergent Impor tant! Never sprinkle or pour detergent directly onto any item in the dishw asher. Hand washing liquids , soap, laundry detergents or disinfectants will damage your dishwasher . Filling the det ergent dispenser 1 Press the butt on on the top of the dispenser to open the co ver .
18 Rinse aid W e highly recommend the r egular use of liquid rinse aid to give the best drying results. Rinse aid gives a streak -free, sparkling clean look to glass and chinaware. In addition it prevents metal from tarnishing. The rinse aid dispenser is located on the inside panel of the door .
19 Car e and cleaning After each wash, turn off the water supply to the dishwasher and lea ve the door ajar 30°, so that moisture and odours are not trapped inside . Impor tant! The door should not be left in the fully open position as this could present a tripping hazard.
20 Car e and cleaning Cleaning the drain filters and spra y arms Regular inspection and maintenance of your dishwasher helps to prevent pr oblems from occurring. Y ou should carefully inspect your dishwasher regularly . Check that no grease or scale has accumulated on the inside of your dish washer.
21 F ault codes Please read the follo wing pages before y ou call for ser vice. Y ou can corr ect many of your dishwasher’ s problems y ourself , using the checklists on the following pages . 22 T roubleshooting Problem Probable cause What to do Dishwasher will not start. Po wer supply is not connected. Connect the power supply . The door is not properly closed. Close the door . Prog ramme button has not been pressed. Select a programme. W ater tap not turned on.
23 T roubleshooting Problem Probable cause What to do Knocking or rattling sound during wash. Spray arm knocking against dishes. Stop cycle and reposition dishes. Dishes have been stacked incorrectly . Stop cycle and reposition dishes. Unclean dishes.
24 T roubleshooting Problem Pr obable cause What to do Glasses have dull appearance . Rinse aid set too low . Increase rinse aid setting. See the ‘R inse aid’ section. T ea stains or trac es of lipstick have not been completely remo ved. Not enough detergent.
