14 3 TECHNICAL OVERVIEW 3.1 Chassis The DishDraw er™ chassis is one complete assembly composed of 5 steel metal components locked together b y a proprietary r iv eting process. The chassis exterior is made of a lacquered electro- galvanised mat erial.
15 3.3.2 T ouch Switches T wo touch switches ar e used on the secondary control panel. The one on the left is used to selec t the r equired wash cycle and the one on the right is used to turn the ECO option on or o( not on US & AA in tegrat ed models).
16 3.4 Motor The motor is a fully electronically contr olled 80V , 60w , 3 phase, 6 pole brushless DC motor , running on wash at between 2200 - 2800 rpm depending on the cycle selected, and at appro ximately 5000 rpm on drain. 3.4.1 Rotor The rot or is a four-pole permanent mag net rotor with a graphite bearing at each end of the v er tical shaft.
17 3.4.3 Filter P late The lter plat e is a stainless steel disk positioned below the dish rack and spray arm and complet ely encompasses the base of the tub . The drain lter has a rubber o ver mould around the edge to reduce soil r e -depositing.
18 3.5 Lid Sy stem The lid is a single piece of polymer plastic with a diaphrag m/seal co-injection moulded into it. The centre of the lid can move r elative to the seal. Each side of the lid is clipped into a y oke, which is in turn connected to a worm drive lid actuator assembly containing a small brushed DC 24 v olt motor .
19 3.7.2 Dispensing Detergent and Rinse A id The dispenser is mounted in the fr ont of the wash tub, and is held in place with 2 brackets and 6 torx screws . The dispenser consists of two deter gent chambers, the smaller one for the pr e rinse and the larger one is the main wash bucket.
20 3.8 Heating 3.8.1 The Heating Element The heating element is a por celain enamelled steel plat e, with a thick lm resistive c oating circuit printed onto the dry side. A gravity thermal fuse is mounted on the heat er plate in series with the heating element circuit.
21 3.9 Motor and Heater Pla te Locknuts There ar e t w o lock nuts holding the heater plat e and motor housing assembly into the base of the tub, these form a wat er tigh t seal by compr essing the two seals. When reassembling the motor , it is impor tant that a motor shim is placed between the inner locknut and the inner element seal.
22 3.11 Filt er Plate The lter plat e is a stainless steel disk positioned below the dish rack and spra y arm and completely encompasses the base of the tub . The drain lter has a rubber o ver mould around the edge t o reduce soil re -depositing.
23 3.12 Dr ying C ycle Immediately after water from the nal hot rinse has been drained fr om the tub , the dr ying cycle begins . The drying fan draws air through the ven t in the rear into the tub wher e it absorbs water from the dish load .
24 3.13 W ater Softener (if fitted) The W ater Sof t ener uses a softening material (resin) to pr event most of the elements that cause hard wat er from being presen t in the wash water . The resin can only trea t a limited amount of wat er befor e it needs to be regenerat ed.
25 4 OPTION ADJUSTMENT MODE 4.1 How to Change the Setup Options ( Classic, Designer & Integra ted models) 4.1.1 Rinse Aid, W ater Supply Hardness, Aut o Power , End of C ycle Beeps, Closed Drawer Option, Clean/ Dir ty Dish Symbol .
26 4.1.3 W ater Supply Hardness Setup (hd) The current supply har dness setting is shown using the red LEDs on the touch switch panel. One of v e settings should be selected according to the known hardness of the supply w ater .

30 5.1 DishDraw er Diagnostics (Classic, Desig ner & Interated models only) Wir eless remote models refer p34. DishDraw er™ diagnostics can only be enter ed in P ower O mode, i.e. when there is no display on the L CD , or the badge LEDs are o .
31 Hardwar e Output mode will monitor the power supply curr ent when any (and only) one of the ll valve, detergent div er ter , water softener , wash/drain motor , dr ying fan is being operated , so do not run combinations of outputs.
32 W ARNING : Only run this c ycle if c onnec ted t o the water supply . This level runs an 8-minut e fast test cycle. Flat door and Integ rated models will show the heavy , normal, delicate and rinse LED’ s. Pr ess POWER to sk ip F ast T est Cycle and advanc e to the nex t lev el.
33 5.1.5 T emperature and V oltage Display (Not available on integ rated or at door models.) During a wash cycle, the current wat er temperatur e or the power supply rail voltage of the contr oller can be displayed on the L CD instead of the time remaining.
34 5.2 DishDraw er Diagnostics W ireless Badge Models The diagnostics f or the wireless badge models are accessed through the USER SETUP FUNCTION , to access the User Setup F unc tion: Open the tub Pr ess and hold the PROGR AM and ST ART/P AUSE swit ches on the touch panel simultaneously for 5 seconds (ensure PROGRAM button is pressed rst).
35 5.2.4 F ast Cycle Mode (FC) 1. Press the PROGRAM button to skip to the Con tinous Cy cle M ode ( CC), or . 2. Press ST ART/P A USE button to star t the F AST CY CLE (FC ) and close the wash tub .
36 6 F A UL T C ODES AND POOR PERFORMANCE F aults are displayed on the L CD (if tted) and are also displayed on the t ouch switch panel for the integr ated and at door models and r emote badge models. There ar e 10 “E” fault codes, which ar e displayed along with a spanner in the L CD (if tted).

44 7 F A UL T FINDING PR OCEDURE If the product has an L CD display , it will be displaying either a fault code or a user warning. F ault codes begin with the letter “E” ., user warnings begin with the letter “U” , the fault code is shown with a number .
45 7.1.2 User W arning U4 - Other T ub F aulting 1. The other tub has a fault which is preventing the opera tion of that tub . No ac tion is r equired f or the tub displaying the U4 code . DO NO T REPL A CE COMPONENTS ON A TUB WITH THIS W ARNING. 7.1.
46 7.1.5 F ault Code E2 - Motor F ault 1. Check the hall sensor (RPS) is correctly located and is held rmly in place on the motor stator and tha t the wiring harness is connected to it.
47 F or I n tegra ted or F lat Door Models: 1. Check the stator windings to ensure correct resistances , this can be done on harness P201 at the controller , check bet w een pin 1 &2, 2 & 3, 1 & 3 the reading should be 8.0 ohms per winding , 16 ohms phase to phase.
48 7.1.5 F ault Code E3 - Over T emperature F ault 1. Check the temperatur e of the incoming water supply , for all markets, ex cept the USA, cold water is r ecommended. If connected to the hot water supply , ensure the incoming water temperatur e is below 140 o F (60 o C ).
49 F ault Code E5 - Lid F ault 1. Check for any obstructions within the tub, especially around the ange area wher e the lid seals. 2. Check customer has not used tall utensils that may hav e caused the lid to jam. 3. Check the lid system for any ph ysical damage or disconnection of yoke , clip or wiring.
50 F ault Code E6 -F an Fault 1. Check the har ness c onnec tions on the component and the contr oller for signs of any water damage , corrosion or arcing. Replac e if damaged. 2. Check that the harness is securely connected at the controller . 3. Run the dr ying fan (dF) in “HO” mode (refer p30 & 31) for at least 30 sec onds.

Check the har ness c onnec tions on the deter gent diverter valve and at the contr oller (P204 refer p56) for signs of an y water damage, corr osion or arcing. Replace if damaged. 2. Ensure the harness is securely connected at the controller and c omponent.
52 F ault Code E8 - Solenoid F ault 1. Check the har ness c onnec tions at each solenoid coil and a t the controller (ref er p57) for signs of any wa ter damage, c orrosion or arcing . 2. Check the resistance of each coil and replace if they fall outside of their indica ted range.

57 9 SERVICE PROCEDURES Caution: Due to the use of electronic switch mode power supply , all internal components, regardless of supply voltage, should be treat ed as live to earth (i.e. equal to the mains supply voltage) when the power is supplied to the DishDraw er .
58 9.2 Draw er Fron t 1. Open the drawer 2. Locate the draw er pins on either side of the tub. 3. I f the pins cannot be acc essed due to being close to a wall, r emove the tub from the slides rst (ref er p59, section 9.6). 4. Use pliers to pull on the pin and remove it fr om the side of the tub .
59 9.4 T oe Kick Removal 1. Partially open the bottom drawer . 2. Loosen the right and left hand toe k ick scr ews. 3. Slide the toe k ick to wards the front of the tub until it comes o the mounting rails . 4. R et in r everse manner . Retaining Screw 9.
60 9.7 Dr ying Duct - T op T ub Only 1. Open the dra wer and remo ve the drawer fron t (ref er sec tion 9.2). 2. Use long nose pliers to gently release the plastic clips while pulling the duct downwar ds. 3. R et in r everse manner , and ensure clips locate correctly .
61 9.9 Detergent Dispenser 1. R emo ve the drawer fr ont (refert sec tion 9.2) 2. Disconnec t the two wiring lock connections from the dispenser coils.
62 9.11 Filt er Plate 1. R emo ve the cutler y basket and rack fr om the tub. 2. R emo ve the drain lter assembly . 3. R ota te the lter plate locknut anti- clockwise to release the lter plate fr om the motor rotor assembly . 4. Lif t the lter pla te clear .
63 9.13 W ater Softener (if fitted) 1. R emo ve the drawer fr ont (refer Section 9.2). 2. Disconnec t the wiring loom connections to the wat er softener diverter valve, brine pump and salt level detector , and remove the dispenser wiring loom connection to the electronic controller .
