18 Choosing the right cookware Impor tant! Only use cookware with a base suitable for induction cooking . Look for the induction symbol on the packaging or the bottom of the pan. Y ou can check whether your cookw are is suitable by carrying out a magnet test.
19 Using y our induction cooktop T o start cooking 1 T ouch and hold the ON/OFF control f or 2 seconds. 3 Place a suitable pan on the cooking zone you wish to use. Make sure the bottom of the pan and the sur face of the cooking zone are clean and dry .

21 Using y our induction cooktop Locking the controls Y ou can lock the controls to prev ent unintended use (for example children accidentally turning cooking zones on). When the controls are locked , all controls exc ept the ON/OFF control are disabled.
22 Using y our cooktop ’ s special fea tures Using the P ow erBoost feature This featur e enables you to sear meat or bring liquid to the boil very quickly. When a cooking zone is set for P owerBoost, it uses mor e than 100% of the power of that particular cooking zone, resulting in a boost of intense heat.
23 Note: Y ou can set two (CI604D T and CI754DT ) or three (CI905D T ) cooking zones for Po werBoost, as long as one is not behind the other . F or example: If you wish to set more than one cooking zone for P owerBoost, y ou need to set them separately .
24 Using y our cooktop ’ s special fea tures Using the Aut o Heat-reduce f eature Cooking zones set for this featur e will: first quickly heat up food or liquid at the highest setting then automatically reduce the heat to a pr e -selected lower setting to cook the f ood through.
25 Using y our cooktop ’ s special fea tures When Aut o Heat-reduce is set T o increase the lower heat setting while A is flashing , simply touch + . If you would like a lower or higher heat setting than y ou originally selected, touch – and + together and set the cooking zone for Aut o Heat-reduce again.
26 Using y our cooktop ’ s special fea tures Using the timer Y ou may use the timer in two different wa ys: Y ou can use it as a minute minder . In this case, the timer will not turn any c ooking zone off when the set time is up. Y ou can set it to turn one or more cooking zones off after the set time is up.

In this case, the cooktop will turn itself off 10 sec onds after you have set the time, but the time will continue to count down.

At extremely high termperatures oil and fat will ignite spontaneously and this presents a serious fire risk. Cooking tips When food comes to the boil , reduce the temperature setting .
