KEY FOB Locking and Unlocking the Doors and Liftgate • Press the L OCK button once to lock all the doors and the liftga te . • Press the UNL OCK button once to un- lock the driver’ s door only and twice within five seconds to unlock all t he doors and liftgate .
PO WER DOOR L OCKS • Press the central L OCK/UNL OCK button located on the instrument panel, in the switch bank below the radio . The button has an LED tha t indicates whet her the doors are lock ed or unlocked. • LED ON: doors lock ed. Pressing the central L OCK/UNL OCK button once will unlock all doors.
CAUTION! An unlock ed vehicle is an invitation to thieves. Al ways remo ve the ke y from the ignition and lock all of t he doors when leaving the vehicle unattended. Doors Lock With One Or More Doors Open • It is possible locking the vehicle through the RKE, internal button or external ke y pa wl, also if one or more doors are open.
W ARNING! In a collision, you and your passengers can suf f er much greater injuries if you are not buck- led up properly . Y ou can s trik e the interior of your vehicle or ot her passengers, or you can be thro wn out of the vehicle. Alwa ys be sure you and others in your vehicle are buckled up properl y .
W ARNING! • Relying on the air bags alone could lead to more sev ere injuries in a collision. The air bags work with your sea t bel t to restrain you properly . In some collisions, the air bags won't deploy at all. Alwa ys wear your seat belts even though you have air bags.
• NEVER ins tall compatible child seats so tha t two seats share a common low er anchorage. • Loosen t he child sea t adjusters on the low er straps and tether straps so that you can attach the hook or connec tor to the anchors.
W ARNING! • In a collision, an unrestrained child, even a tiny baby , can become a projec tile inside the vehicle. The f or ce requir ed to hold even an infant on your lap could become so great that you could not hold t he child, no matter how strong you are.
R ecliner • T o recline the seatback, lift up the recline lev er , located on the outboard side of t he seat, lean back until t he desir ed position has been reached, and release the lever . Seat Height • The seat height can be raised or low ered by using a lever , located on the outboard side of t he seat.
Fold And T umble Rear Seat • Be sure t hat the front seats are fully upright and positioned f orward. This will allow the rear seat to f old down easily . • Lif t the seatback release lever located on t he upper outboard side of the seat and f old the seatback f or ward.
HEA TED SEA TS Front Heated Seats • The controls f or the front hea ted seats are loca ted on the outboard side of t he seat. • Press the switch once to turn on the heated seat.
ENGINE BREAK-IN RECOMMEND A TIONS • A long break-in period is not requir ed f or t he engine and drivetrain (transmission and axle) in your vehicle. • Drive moderately during t he firs t 300 miles (500 km). After the initial 60 miles (100 km), speeds up to 50 or 55 mph (80 or 90 km/h) are desirable .
NO TE: For saf e driving, turn off the high beams when oncoming traffic is present to prevent head- light glare and as a cour t esy to other motorists. Flash T o Pass • Pull t he lev er towar d you to activate the high beams. The high beams will remain on until the lever is released.
NO TE: The mist f eature does not activate the washer pump; t heref ore, no washer fluid will be spra yed on t he windshield. The wash func tion must be activated in order to spra y the wind- shield with washer fluid. W asher Operation • Pull t he lev er towar d you and hold f or as long as spray is desired.
Cancel • Push t he CANCEL button, or apply the brakes to cancel the set speed and maintain the set speed memor y . • Push t he ON/OFF button to turn t he sys tem off and erase the set speed memor y . W ARNING! • Leaving the Elec tronic Speed Control system on when not in use is dangerous.
MANU AL CLIMA TE CONTR OLS Air R ecirculation • Use Recir culation f or maximum A/C operation. • For window def ogging, turn the recir culation off. • Recir culation is not allow ed in defrost, f loor , defrost/floor (mix) modes. Heated Mirr ors • The mirrors are hea ted to melt frost or ice.

UNIVERSAL GARA GE DOOR OPENER (HomeLink®) • HomeLink® replaces up to t hree hand-held transmitters t hat operate devices such as garage door openers, motorized ga tes, lighting or home security sys tems. The HomeLink® unit is power ed by your vehicles 12 V ol t battery .
NO TE: Y ou have 30 seconds in which to initiate the next step after the LEARN button has been pressed. • Return to the vehicle and press t he programmed HomeLink® button twice ( holding the button f or two seconds each time). If the device is plug ged in and activates, programming is complete.

Spare Tire R emoval • The spare tire is stow ed to the under - body below the cargo area. 1. Fit t he wr ench tool ov er the drive nut. Use the wrench to r ot ate the nut coun- ter clockwise until the spare is on the ground with enough slack in the cable to allow you to pull the tire out from under the vehicle.
3. When t he spar e is clear , remo ve the knob or plastic molded nut by rotating it counter -clockwise. 4. Til t the retainer at the end of the cable and pull it t hrough the center of the wheel. Preparations For Jacking 1. Park t he vehicle on a firm level sur f ace, av oiding ice or slipper y areas.
Jacking Instructions NO TE: R ef er to t he “Compact Spare Tire” sec tion of the “Tires-General Inf ormation” under “Star ting And Operating” f or inf ormation about the spare tire, it's use , and operation. 1. Remov e the scissors jack and wheel wrench from the rear s torage area.
NO TE: The wheel cover is held on the wheel by t he wheel bol ts. When reinst alling the original wheel, properly align the wheel cover to t he valve s tem, place the wheel cover onto the wheel, then ins tall the wheel bolts. 6. Ins t all t he spare wheel and wheel bol ts with the cone shaped end of the bol ts towar d the wheel.
W ARNING! • Do not attempt to change a tire on the side of the vehicle close to moving traffic. Pull f ar enough of f the roa d to avoid the danger of being hit when opera ting the jack or changing t he wheel. • Being under a jack ed-up vehicle is dangerous.
TIREFIT KIT • Y our vehicle may be equipped with a TIREFIT kit. The TIREFIT kit is located in the rear storage area behind the rear passenger seat. • Small punc tures up to 1/4 in (6 mm) in t he tire trea d can be sealed with TIREFIT . For eign objec ts (e.
TIREFIT Usage Precautions • Replace the TIREFIT Sealant Bott le (1) and Sealant Hose (6) prior to the expiration date ( printed on the bottle label) to assure optimum operation of the system. Ref er to “Seal- ing a Tire wit h TIREFIT” sec tion (F ) “Sealant Bott le and Hose Repla cement” .

NO TE: If the tire becomes ov er -inflated, press t he Deflation Button to reduce the tire pressur e to the recommended inf lation pressur e bef ore continuing. • If the tire inflates to the recommended pressure or is at least 26 psi (1.8 Bar) pres- sure within 15 minutes: 1.
NO TE: • If t he tir e becomes over -inf lated, press the Def lation Button to reduce t he tire pressur e to t he recommended inflation pressure bef or e continuing. • When having the tire serviced, advise the authorized s tudio or service center that the tire has been sealed using t he TIREFIT ser vice kit.
W ARNING! • Do not attempt to seal a tire on the side of the vehicle closest to traffic. Pull f ar enough off the roa d to a void t he danger of being hit when using the TIREFIT kit. • Do not use TIREFIT or drive the vehicle under t he f ollowing circumstances: • If the punc ture in the tire tread is appro ximately 1/4 in.
Preparations For Jump-Start • The batter y in your vehicle is located on the lef t side of t he engine compar tment. 1. Set t he parking brake, shif t the automatic transmission into P ARK and turn the igni- tion to OFF/L OCK. 2. T urn off t he heater , radio, and all unneces- sar y elec trical accessories.
CAUTION! • Accessories tha t can be plug ged into t he vehicle power outlets draw power from the vehicle’ s batter y , even when not in use (i.e., cellular phones, etc.). Eventually , if plugged in long enough, t he vehicle’ s battery will discharge sufficiently to degrade battery lif e and/or pre vent the engine from st ar ting.
• Inser t a small scre wdriver or similar tool down into t he access slot at the front of the shift lever assembly , and push and hold the white ov erride release lever down. • Move the shift lever into the NEUTRAL position. • The vehicle may t hen be s t ar ted in NEUTRAL.
CAUTION! • Failure to f ollow these towing methods can cause sever e transmission damage. Such damage is not cover ed by t he New V ehicle Limited W arranty . • DO NO T f lat tow any vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission. Damage to the drivetrain will result.
