Chapter 1: Ove rview 20 Note The AT-PWR06 power supply module is sold and packaged separately from the AT-DC2552XS L2 Data Center Switch. The fan module slots (FAN 1/FAN 2) are for th e installation of the AT-FAN06 fan module. These slots are located on the center right and center left of the chassis.

Chapter 1: Ove rview 30 AT-PWR06 Power Supply Module The AT-DC2552XS L2 Data Center Switch is powered by one AT-PWR06 power supply module. A second AT-P WR06 power supply module may be installed for redundancy. The power supply mo dule has an AC connecto r on the power supply module panel and is in stalled by the user in slot PS1 or slot PS2.

Regional AC power cables are provided in the AT-PWR06 power supply module shipping box.

43 Chapter 3 Installing the Switch and Modules You may install the AT-DC2552XS Switch on a desktop or in a standard 19 inch equipment rack. In add ition, you must install at least one AT-PWR06 power supply module and tw o AT-FAN06 fan modu les in the switch chassis.

This blank cover assures that the correct airflow acro ss the component s in the chassis when a power supply module is not inst al led.

The power to the chassis can remain ON while one of t he fan modules is replaced. The following procedure assume s a second AT-FAN06 fan module is already installed and operating.

Chapter 5: Po wering the Switch 66 Powering On the Switch The power turns on automatica lly w hen you connect the power cable to one or both of the AT-PWR06 power supply mo dules. To power on the switch, perform the following procedure: Note Power cord is used as a disconnection device.

Chapter 6: Managin g the Switch 70 Local Management You can manage the AT-DC2552XS switch locally through the Console port (USB connector) the rear panel of the switch. This is called local management or out-of-band management becau se the management sessions are not connected over your Ethernet ne twork.
