5 1 . 4 F R O NT P A N EL Your primary interaction with your ne w DVR will be through the Fro nt Panel buttons and their corresponding buttons on the included Remote Control. Take a moment t o learn where the keys are as t he remainder of the manual will refer to them often.
6 6. SEQ Press this key to enter the auto sequential switching mo de. The sequence dwell time can be set in “Display Setting” tab of the Menu. For more detail about SEQ, please see “5.8.2 Display Setting- Main M/T SEQ”. 7. Search Press this key to enter Search Menu .

9 2 I N S T A L L A T I O N 2 . 1 V I DE O CO N N E CT I O N S Camera and CCTV m onitor must use 75 O hm video cable ( e.g. RG-59, RG-6, RG-11) with BNC connectors. Due t o i nappropriate absorbability, 50 Ohm c oax ca ble (e.g. RG-58), antenna cable and ot her types of coaxial cable are not compatible.

The POWER LED wi ll lig ht up if power is normal. Once t he sy stem h as fi nished loadin g, you can begin to set up the menu options for the DVR.
14 3 M O U S E A N D F R O N T P A N E L O P E R A T I O N ECOR series D VR s upports multiple s ources to control t he D VR. I t can be controlled wit h a m ouse, th e front panel, an EKB500, the handheld remote control, o r serial command from RS232 port.
15 3. 1. 2 O per at io n i n Con fi g ur at io n M e nu The Main menu (shown in Figure 3.2) is divided into 3 main sections. Figure 3.2 (OSD Menu) ○ 1 In section 1, there are twelve setup options available. Mov e the mouse over an icon to select it.

Use “ Enter ” key to confirm a selection or enter the next level m enu.

49 Gateway: This field shows the gateway for your network so the DVR will be recognized wit hin t he network. If DHCP or PPPoE is selected, this value will be assign ed automatically. DNS Server 1: This field shows the primary DNS server for your network.
50 User name: Input the login user name if the SMTP server requires authe ntication. Password: Input the password if the SMTP server requires authentication. Sender Email: Input sender’s e-mail address. Receiver Email 1: Input the first e-mail address that event messages are sent to.

If you do not see a yellow bar like the one the arrow is pointing at, your security settings may be too high.
65 Install the eDVR.cab file when prompted to do so. Once the file finishes installing, you will return to the same login page as before. Type in the username and password and click Login to v iew the cameras.

72 7 N E T W O R K I N G O V E R V I E W This chapter will giv e you a basic instruction on how to set up t he DVR f or network connection. It is highly recommended t hat you have a w orking k nowledge of what a network i s and how i t works. This wi ll be helpful in completing the networking process.
73 7 . 4 V I R T U AL PO R T S A port number represents a "channel" or e ntryway for network communications. P ort numbers allow different applications on the same c omputer to utilize network resources w ithout interfering with each other. Port numbe rs most commonly ap pear in netw ork programmi ng, particularly socket programming.
74 Do you have a static IP address? ______________ A St atic IP address means you use the same IP address every time you connect to the Internet. With a static IP address, ot her Internet users always know the address of your location and c an easily connect w ith it.
75 7 . 7 S I M P L E O N E T O O NE C ON N E CT I O N Crossover Ethernet Cable Pin outs: The Figure below shows the pin configurations for a cross-over cable. Connection Procedure: The First st ep is t o purcha se or mak e a cross- over c able. We recom mend purchasing one if yo u have never made a cross-over cable.
76 Assign an I P of 192.168.001.003, a Subnet Mask of 2 55.255.255.000, and a Gateway of 192.168.001.001. You can ignore DNS Server. The next step is to set the computer’s network settings to match those of th e D VR. You wi ll need Administrator privileges on your Windows machine to do this.

81 Log into the EverFocus DVR menu and go to the Network Setting Menu. Input the Static IP address, the Subnet Mask, and the Gateway that you obtai ned f rom the internet service provider. Note: If you have a dynamic IP address, you can set the DVR t o DHCP to automatically detect the network settings settings.

Connection Procedure: The First step is to purchas e or mak e a straight through c able. We recommend purchasing one if you have never made a straight through cable.
83 Log into the EverFocus DVR menu and go to the Network Setting Menu. To let the router automatically assign an address: Set the Network Type to DHCP. Make sure to write down the IP address and the Gateway. Exit from the Menu to save settings.
