16 Installation Use r’s G uid e Screen Siz e an d Projection Dist ance The distance between the projector's lens and the scr een determines the actual image si ze. While referring to the follo wing table, position the projector so that the images are projec ted onto the sc reen at the optimum size.
17 Use r’s G uid e Inser ting and Remo ving Car ds (EMP-745/737 onl y) Y ou can use PC cards such as w ireless LAN cards a nd memory cards with the EMP-745/737. Inserting and removing PC cards will be explained using the included wireless LAN card provided as an example.

Press the eject button again. Enough of th e PC car d will b e ejected s o that yo u can grasp th e edge of the card and pull it st raight out of the slot.

Y ou can output sound from connected video equi pment (such as a computer or video deck) through the projector's built-in speak er if the video equipment has an audio output port.

If you can not set up the projetor so that it is at right angle to the screen surface, y ou can tilt the projector up.

Extend the front adjustable foot until the desired angle is obtained, and then release the foot adjust lever .

50 Use r’s G uid e Functions f or Enhancing Pr ojection This section describes the v arious useful functions that can be used to enhance presentations.
51 Functions for Enha ncing Projection Use r’s G uid e Free ze This function pauses only the projected images. The sound keeps playing without pausing. The image source will still be playing back the images e v en while projection is paused, and so i t will not be possible to resume projection from the point where it was paused.
52 Functions for Enha ncing Projection Use r’s G uid e E-Zo om This function lets you enlarg e and reduc e a par t of projected images such as graphs and tables. PROCEDURE Press the [E-Zoom ] button. A cursor (cross) indicating the centre point for the area to be enlarged will appear on the screen.

73 Use r’s G uid e Using the Help If a problem occurs with the projector, th e Help function uses on-screen displays to assist you in solving the problem. It uses a series of menus in a question and answer format. PROCEDURE Press the [Help] button. The help menu will be displ ayed.

99 Use r’s G uid e Maintenance This section describes ma intenance tasks such as cleaning the projector and replacing consumable parts. Clea ning Y ou should clean the projector if it becomes dirty or if the quality of projected images starts to deteriorate.
100 Maintenance Use r’s G uid e Replacing C onsuma bles This section describes ho w to replace the lamp and the air filters. It is time to replac e the lamp when: • The message "Repl ace the L amp ." appea rs on the scree n when proj ect ion s tar ts.
101 Maintenance Use r’s G uid e PROCEDURE T urn off the projector's power , wait until the cool- down period has ended and a "pi p-pip" confirmati on buzzer sounds, and th en disconnect the power cable . The cool-down period lasts for about 20 seconds.
102 Maintenance Use r’s G uid e T ake out the lamp. Hold the lamp as shown in the illustration below and lift it up and out of the projector . If the lamp is broken replace it w ith a new lamp, or contact your local dealer for further advice. If re placing the lamp yoursel f, be careful to av oid pie ces of broken glass.
