15 Screen Size and P r ojection Distance The distance b etween the projector and t he screen d etermines the actual image size. While referring to the table below , position the projecto r so that the images are projected onto t he screen a t the optim um size.
16 Connecting to a Co mputer Caution : When conn ecting th e pr oj ector to a com pute r , be sure to chec k the follo wing. • T urn off the power for bo th the pr ojector and the comput er befor e connec ting them. If the power for either de vice is on at the time of con nection, damage may r esult.
17 Pr ojecting Images fr om the Compu t er The shape and s p ecif ications of the computer's mon itor port will determine what type of cable s hould be used.
18 Use the optional V G A-HD15 PC cable to connect the Co mputer/Component V ideo port at the rear of the projector to the mon itor port of the compu ter . 21 Using the Remot e Control to Operate the Mo use P ointer (Wireless Mouse F unction) Y ou can use t he remote control as a wireless mouse to control the mouse pointer on the co mputer screen . T o do this, you must use the accessory USB cable to connect the USB po rt of the computer to the U SB port at the rear of the projector .

33 Adjusting th e Screen Ima g e Y ou can correct and adjust the screen image in order to obtain the best possible pict ure . Adjusting th e Image Siz e The size of the projected image is basically determ i ned by the distance from the projector to the s creen.
34 Adjusting the Im ag e Angle an d A utomatic K eyston e Correction F unction The projector should b e set up so that it is as p erpendicu lar to the scree n as possible. If it is not possibl e to set up the p roject or so th at it is perp endicular to t he scree n, it can be set up at a sli g ht ver tical angle instead.
35 * This value applies when the zoom ring is turned to t he maximum "T" settin g. If the zoom ring is turned to the "W" setting, the av ailab le angle of tilt for automatic adjustment will become smaller .
36 Manuall y Correcting K eys tone Distortion The projector is provided with an automatic keystone correction function which detects the v ertical angle of the projector and ca rries out keys tone correction automatically .
37 Adjusting the Ima g e Qual ity The quality of t he screen imag es can be adjus ted as follows . Focusing th e Screen Ima ge Pr ocedure T urn t he focus ring to ad just the imag e fo c u s . T urn the focus ring of the projector until th e projected images are in proper f o cus.

42 Function s f or En hancing Projection This section descr i bes the v arious useful functions that can be used to en hance presentatio ns. A/V Mute This function momentarily paus es the image and sound.
43 Freeze This function pau s es only the projected images. The sound keep s playing without pausin g. The image source will still be playing back th e im ages e ven while projection is paused, and so it will not b e possible to resum e projection from the p oint where it w as paused.
44 Wide-scr een Pr ojection of Component Video and Video Images (Changin g the Aspect Ratio) This function chang es the aspect ratio of ima ges from 4:3 to 16 :9 when component vid eo images (YCbCr and YPbPr) or video imag es (S-V ideo or composite video ) are being pro ject ed.
45 E-Zoom This function lets you enlarge and reduce a part o f projected images such as grap hs and tabl es. Pr ocedure 1 Press the [ E -Zoom ] butt on on the remote contr ol. A cursor (cross) indicating the centre point for the area to be enlar ged will appear on th e screen.
46 Using the Config uration Men u Functions The conf i guration menus can be used to carry out a v ariety of settings and adjustments. The menus ha ve a hierarchical str u cture, with a main menu that is divid ed into sub-menu s, which are furth er divi ded into other sub -menus.

60 Using the Help If a problem occurs with the projector , the Help function u s es on-screen displays to assist you i n sol ving the p roblem. It uses a seri es of menus in a question and ans wer format. Pr ocedure 1 Press the [Help] b utton on the pr ojec tor's contr ol panel.

While keeping the projector hor izontal, use a v acuum cleaner to clean a way the dust fro m the air f ilter . 75 It is time to replace th e lamp when: • The message "Lamp Replace." appea rs on the screen f or 30 s econds when projection star ts . • When the (W ar ning) indicator is flashing red at 0.5-second inter vals • The projected image gets darker or star ts to deteriorate.
76 Caution : • If the lamp sto ps working and n eeds to be r ep laced, th er e is the da nger that the lamp may break when hand led. If r eplacing the lamp of a pr ojector that ha s been installed to the ceiling , you should always as sume that the lamp is br oken a nd r em ove the lamp cover very carefully .
77 4 T a ke out the la mp. Hold the lamp by the tw o recesses on the side to lift it up and ou t from the p rojector . 5 Install the new lamp. Hold the lamp so that it f aces the correct way to fit into the projector , and then insert the lamp until it clicks into place and tight en the tw o f ixing scre ws.
78 The projector has a b u ilt-in counter which keeps track of the lamp operating time. When the cumulati ve operating time r eaches a certain poin t, it causes the replacement w arning message to be displayed. Therefore, the coun ter needs to be reset after the lamp has bee n replaced with a ne w one.
79 Pr ocedure 1 T urn off the projec t or power , wait for the cool-do w n period to end, and then disconnect the power cab le. The cool-do wn period lasts for about 45 seconds.
80 Saving a User's Lo go Y ou can record the image that is cur rently being projected as a user's logo. Tip : When a user's logo is recor ded, the pre v ious user's logo will be erased.
