13 9 Bring up ESR-9752 Connect the supplied power-adapter to the power inlet port and connect it to a wall outlet. Then, ESR-9752 automatically enters the self-test phase. Durin g self- test phase, Power LED will blink briefly, and th en wi ll be lit continuousl y to indicate that this product is in normal operation.
14 STEP 4 Insert the ESR-9752 CD into yo ur DVD/CD drive and SMART WIZA RD should run automatically with a few se conds. If not, please op en W ind ows Explorer and fin d the root directory of CD. Double click on W iz ard. exe icon to run it. Click Setup Wizard to s etup your ESR-9752.
15 Setup Wizard Click <Next> to proceed. Click <Exit> to abort..
16 ESR-9752 should be se tup as depicted above. Make sure y our DSL/CABLE modem is setup and working. Else take the help of your internet se rvice provider. Click <Next> to proceed. Check the MODEM and E SR-9752 connection. It should be as show n below.
17 Check power connection for modem as w ell as E SR-9752. Make sure the antenna is connected to rear pane l of ESR-9752. Click <Next> to proceed. Notice the LED w ill li ght up at this stage. I f not, check yo ur procedures again. Click <Next> to configu re WAN & W ireless sett ings.
18 User name and passw ord are admin/admin. C lick <OK> . Your default browser will connect to ESR-9752 Web Server htt p://192.168.0.1 ..
19 Click <Next> to enter mode selection. Select the mode that ESR-9752 is going to be an d set its configurations. AP Repeater mode does not enable W AN inter f ace, S etup Wizard will skip WAN Configuration. Click <Next> to automa tically detect y our Int ernet Net work settings.

24 12 AP Router Mode S ystem - St atus This page allows you to monitor the cu rrent status of you r ro uter. System: You can see the Uptime, hardware information, serial number as well as firmware version information . WAN S ettings : This section displays whether the W AN p ort is connected to a Cable/DSL connection.
25 LAN Settings: This section displays the B roadb and router LAN port’s current information. It also shows whether the DHCP S erver function is enabled / disabled.
26 - L A N The L AN Tabs reveals LAN settings which can be altered at will. If you are an entry level user, tr y accessin g a webs ite from your bro wse r. If you can access website without a glitch , just do not change any of these settings. Click <Apply > at the bottom of this screen to save the changed configurations.
27 DHCP Server: Th is can enable or disable the Dyna mi c Pool setting. Lease time: This is the le ase time of each assign ed IP address. Start IP: This is the be ginning of the IP pool for DHCP client hosts. End IP: . This is the end of the IP pool for DHCP client hosts Domain name: The Dom ain Name for the exis ting or customized netw ork.

29 Edit sched ule options to allow config uration of firewall and power savin gs services. Fill in th e schedule and select t y pe of service. Click < A pply > to k eep the settings.
30 The schedule table lists the pr e-schedu le s ervice-run s. You can select any of t he schedule record using the check box. - Event Log View op eration event log . This page shows the current sys tem log of the Broadband r outer. It displays any even t occurred after sy stem start up.

32 Wizard Click Wiza rd to con figure the Broad band Router. S etup wiz ard will now be displayed; check that the modem is connected and click <Next>.
33 INTERNET - St atus This page show s the current Internet connection type and status - Dynamic IP Use t he MAC address whe n registering for Internet service, and do not c hang e i t unless required by y our ISP .
34 - St atic IP If your ISP Provider has assigned a fixed IP address, enter the as s igned I P address, Subnet ma sk, Default G atew ay IP address, Prima ry D NS and S econdary DNS (if available) of y our ISP provide r .
35 Login / Pass word: E nte r the PPPoE username and passw ord assigned by your ISP Provider . Service Name: T his is nor m a lly optional. Maximum T ransmissi on Unit (MTU): T his is the maxi mum size of the pa ckets.
36 Click <Apply > to save configuration and connec t to ISP provider. Wirele ss Settings - Basic In basic setting page, yo u can set wireless Radio, M ode, B and , SSID, and Channel. Radio: You can t urn on/o ff wireless r adio. If wireless Radio is off, you cannot associate with AP through wireless.

38 - WDS with A P Router Wireless Distribution System, a system that enables the wireless interconnection of access point, allows a wireless network to be extende d using multiple APs without a wired backbone to link them. E ach W DS AP needs same channel and encry ption type settings.
39 - A dvanced This tab allows you to set the advanced wireless options.. You should not change t hese parameters unles s you know what effect the changes will h ave on the router. Fragment Threshol d: This specifies the max im um s ize of a packet during the fragmentation o f data to be tr ansmitted .
40 DTIM P eriod: Enter a value between 1 and 255 for the Delivery Traffic I ndication Message (DTIM). A DTIM is a c ountdow n informing clients of t he next window for listening to broadca st and multica st messages. Data Rate: The “D ata Rate” is t he rate that this acces s point uses to trans mit data packets.
41 - Security This Acc ess P oint provides complete w irel es s LAN security functions, included are W EP, IEEE 802.1x, IEEE 80 2.1x with WEP, WP A w ith pre- shared key and WPA w ith RADIU S. W ith these security functions, y ou can preven t yo ur wireless LAN from illegal access.
42 Enable 802.1x A uth entication IEEE 80 2 .1x is an authe ntication p rotocol. Every user m ust use a valid ac count to login to this A ccess P oint before acces sing the wireless LAN. T he authentication is processe d by a RADIUS serve r. This mode only authenticates users by IEEE 802.
43 Authentication Ty pe: There are two authentication types: "O pen Sys tem " a n d "Shared K ey" . B oth AP and wireless client mus t be configured with the same authentication ty pe. Key Length: You can select the WEP k ey l ength for encryption, 64-bit or 128-bit.
44 WP A -Radius Encr yption Wi-Fi Pr otected Access ( WPA ) is an advanced s e curity standard. You can use an external RADIUS server to authenticate wireless sta tio ns and provide t he session key to encrypt data during communica tion. It uses TKIP or CCMP ( AES ) to change the encryp tion k ey frequently .
45 - MA C A ddres s Filtering This wireless router supports MA C Address Control, which prevents unauthorized client s from accessing y our wireless network.
46 - Wi-Fi Pr otected Setup (WPS) WPS is the simplest w ay to establish a connection between the wireless clients and the wireless router. You don’t have to select th e encryption m ode and fill in a long encryption passphrase every time when you t ry to s etup a wireless connection.

50 - Demilit arized Z one (DMZ) If you have a client PC t hat cannot run an Intern et application (e .g. Games) properly from behind the NAT firewall, then you can open up the fir ew all restrictions t o unres tricted two -way I nternet a ccess by defining a DMZ Host.
51 - Denial of Serv ice (DoS) The Broadband router's fir ewall can block c o mmon hacker attacks, i nclud ing Denial of S erv ice, Pi ng o f Death, Port Scan an d S ync Flood. If Internet attacks occur the router can log the events. Ping of Death: Protections from Ping of Death attack.
52 - MA C Fil ter If y ou want to res trict users from accessing c ertain Internet app lications / services (e.g. I nternet websites, email, FTP etc.), and then this i s the place to set that configuration . MA C Filter allows users to define the tr affic type permitted in your LAN.
53 A d d PC MAC A ddress Fill in “ LAN MAC A ddress ” and <Description> o f the PC that is allowed / denied to a ccess the Internet, and t hen cl ick <Add> . I f you f ind any typo before adding it and want to r etype agai n, just click <Re set> and the fields will be cleared.
54 - IP Filter Enable IP Filterin g: Check to enable or unche ck to disable IP Fil tering . Deny: If you selec t “ Deny ” then all clie n ts will be allowed to access Internet except for the clien ts in the list below. Allow: If you select “ Allow ” then all clients will be denied to access Internet except for the PCs in the l ist below.
55 - URL Filter You can block access to some W eb sites from particular PCs by e ntering a full URL address or just ke ywords o f the W eb si te. Enable URL Blocki ng: Enable or disable URL Blocking A d d URL Key w ord Fill in “URL/Keyword” and then click <Add> .
56 Remove URL Keyword If you wa nt to remove some URL k eyw ords f rom th e " Current URL Blocking Table ", select the URL keyword you want to remove in the table a nd then click <Delete Selecte d > . If you want r emove all URL keyw ords f rom the table, click <Delete All> bu tton.
57 Adv an ced Set tings - Network A dd ress T ranslation (NA T) Network Ad dress Translation (NAT) allows multiple users at your local site to access the I nternet t hrough a single Public IP A ddress or multiple Public IP Addresses.
58 - Port Mapping Port Mapping allows y ou to re-direct a particular range of service p ort numbers (from the Internet / W AN Port) to a particular LAN IP address. It helps yo u to host servers behind the router NAT firewall. Enable Port Ma pping: Enable or disable port mapping function.
59 A d d Port Mapping Fill in th e " Local IP ", “ Protocol ”, “ Port Ran ge ” and " Description " of the s etting t o be added and then click " Add ". T hen this P ort Mapping setting will be added into t he " Current Po rt Mappin g Table " below.
60 Enable Port For wa rdi ng: Enable or disable Port Forwarding. Description: The des cription of this setting. Local IP / Local Port: This i s the LAN Cl ient/Host I P address and Port number that the Public Port number packet will be sent to. Protocol: Select the p ort number protocol type (TCP, UDP or b oth).
61 - Port T rigger ing (Special A ppli cations) Some applications r equire multiple c onnec tions, such as Internet games, video Conferencing, Interne t telephony and others. In this section you c an con fi gure the router to suppo rt multiple connections fo r these types o f applications.
62 Popular Applications: This section lis ts the more popular applicatio ns t hat require multiple c onnection s. Select a n application from t he P opular A pplications selection. Once you have selected an application, select a location (1-5) in the “Add” selection box and then click the <Add> button.
63 - A pplication Layer Gateway ( A L G) You can select applications that n eed ALG support. Th e router will let the sel ected application to correct ly pass through the NAT gatew ay. - UPNP With UPnP, all PCs in you Intranet will discover this router automatically .
64 Enable/Disable UPnP: You can enable or Di sable the UPnP fe ature here. A fter you e nable the UPnP feature, all c lient sy stems that support UPnP, like W indows X P, can discover this router automatically and access the Internet throu gh this router without hav ing to configure anything.
65 Priority Qu eue This can put the pac kets of specific protocols in High/Low Queue. The pac ke t s in High Queue will process first. Unlimited Priority Queu e: T he LAN IP address w ill not be bounded in the QoS limitation. High/Lo w Priority Qu eue: T his can put the packets in the protocol and port range to High/Low Q o S Queue.
66 Bandwidth Allocati on: This can r eserve / limit the throughput of specific protocols a nd p ort range. Y ou ca n set the upper bound and Low er bound. T y p e: S pecify the direct ion of packets . Upload, dow n load or both. IP ran ge: S pecify the IP address range.
67 Disabled: This cou ld turn off QoS feature. - Routing Y ou can set enable S tati c Routing to l et the router f orward pac kets by your routing policy . Destination LAN IP: S pecify the des tination LAN IP address o f static routing rule. Subnet Mask: S pecify the Subnet Mask of static routing rule.
68 T OOLS Settings - A dmin You can ch ange the p assword required to log into the broadband router's system web-based m anage me nt. By def ault, the password is: admin. Passwords can contain 0 to 12 al p hanumeric characters, and are case sensit ive.
69 Remote managemen t This allows you to designate a host in the In terne t the ability to configure the Broa dband router from a r emote site. Enter the designated host IP Address in the Host IP Address field.
70 - Time The Time Zone al lows your route r to reference or base it s time on the set tings configured here, which will affect fun c tio ns such as L og entries and Firewall settings. Time Setup: S y n chronize with the NT P server Time Z one: Select the time zone of the country you are currently in.
71 Synchronize with PC Y ou co u ld sy nchronize timer w ith yo ur Local PC time. PC Date and Time: This field would display the PC da te and time. Daylight Sa v ings: T he router can als o take Daylight Savings into account .
72 - DDNS DDNS allow s yo u to m ap the static doma in name to a dy namic IP address. You m ust get an account, passwo rd and your static domain na me from t he DDNS s ervice pr o viders. T his rou ter supports DynDNS, TZO and o ther co mmon DDNS service provide rs.
73 - Power Saving power in W LAN mode can be enabled / disabled in this page. - Diagnosis This page could let y ou diagnosis your current network status.
74 - Firmware This page allows y ou to upgrade the router’s fi rmware. To upgrade t he firmware of y our Br oadband router, you need to download the firmwa re file to your local h ard disk, and en ter that f ile name and pat h in t he appropriate fi eld on this page.
75 - Back-up This page allow s you to save t he current router con fig urations . W hen you save the configurations, you also can re-load the saved configurations i nto the router through the Restore Settings . If extre m e pro blems oc cur you can use the Res tore to Factory D efaults to set all configurations to i ts original default settings.
