1 1 O P E R A T I N G I N S T RUC T I O N S • Make sure that the FM Antenna is fully extended. • Make sure that you have installed batteries in the remote control. • Make sure that the AC power cord is connected to an outlet that is always “live”.
1 2 VOLUME AND TONE CONTROLS Volume Adjustments Press the VOLUME UP or DO WN buttons on the front panel or the remote control to increase or decrease the volume. The volume level indicator appears in the main displa y . The range is from “ 00 db ” (Minimum) to “ 80 db ” (Maximum).
1 3 LISTENING TO THE RADIO 1.) Press the PO WER button on the main unit or the remote control. The main display turns on and the S TANDBY indicator goes “ Off ”. 2.) If necessary, press the FUNCTION button on the top panel of the main unit or the remote control to select the Tuner function.

1 5 PRE-SETTING S TA TIONS IN THE TUNER MEMORY This system includes a 20 station preset memor y . You can store up to 10 FM stations and 10 AM stations in the tuner memory for immediate recall. The procedure for storing stations in memory is as follows: 1.
1 6 RECALLING PRESET S TA TIONS Turn the unit ‘ On ’ and select the desired band. Press the P-UP/REPRE AT button on the front panel or the remote control repeatedly to scroll through the preset memories until the display shows the desired station.
1 7 PL AYING COMPACT DISCS IMPOR TANT: This CD player can play normal CDs plus CD Recordable (CD-R) and CD Rewriteable (CD-RW) discs. However the playability of CD-R and CD-RW discs may be affected by the type of software that was used in ‘ ripping ’ the tracks from the original discs and ‘ burning ’ the tracks onto the blank media.
1 8 8.) When the last track has played the player stops automatically and the display again shows the total playing time and tracks on the disc. You may also stop playback at any time by pressing the STOP button on the top panel of the main unit or on the remote control.
1 9 REPE AT PLAYBACK Y ou can program the player to continuously repeat a single track or the entire disc. The Repeat function can be activated while a disc is playing or while the disc is stopped.
2 0 INTRO SCAN PL AYBACK (Main Unit Only ) This feature allows you to play just the first 10 seconds of each track on the disc. This may be useful when you are trying to locate a specific song but you do not remember the title. Load the disc as usual and wait until the display shows the total playing time and number of tracks.

2 6 OTHER FUNCTIONS MUTE BUTTON (Remote Control Only) To temporarily shut off the sound from the speakers press the MUTE button on the remote control. The MUTE indicator appears in the displa y . Press the MUTE button or VOLUME buttons to cancel Mute and restore the sound.

2 8 SLEEP TIMER (On Remote Control Only) This unit includes a programmable Sleep Timer that allows you to fall asleep to between 10 and 90 minutes of music and then shuts the power ‘ Off ’ automaticall y. To operate the sleep timer: 1.) Turn the unit ‘ On ’ and operate either the Radio or CD function as usual.
2 9 DISPL AY BUTTON (On Remote Control Only) Normally the display shows the correct time in the S TANDBY (Power Off) and Tape modes; the radio frequency in the Radio mode, and the CD track and time information in the CD mode.
