5 Oper ating Instructions 1 Safety Prior to using for the first time • Follow the ”Instructions for installa tion and connection” . Corr ect use • The dishwasher is only intend ed for washing domestic dishes. • Additions or modifications to th e dishwasher are not permitted.

8 Switching on for the first time – setting the language 1. Press the ON/OFF button. First of all HELLO appear s in the dis- play . As soon as the di shwasher is ready for use, this is replaced by LANG UAGE ENGLISH; the word ENGLISH is flashing. 2. Using the direction buttons ( or ) select the desired language.
9 Display The info status bar consists of a row of indivi dual lamps that is divided into two sections: the left section r efers to the Pr ogrammes menu, the right section to the Options menu. • In the Progr ammes and Options me nus you can see at what stage within a cycle you currently ar e (the r elevant lamp flashes).
10 Basic oper ation This section contains basic inf ormat ion regard ing the use of your dish- washer . Please read this sec tion very carefully . An overview of the menus The Prog rammes menu • After switching on the dishwasher yo u will find your self in the Pro- grammes menu.
11 The Options menu • Here go to the desir ed setting usin g the dir ection buttons ( or ). In the info status bar your positio n within the menu is always shown .
12 Prior to using for the first time 1. Set the water softener 2. Fill up with special salt for water softeners 3. Fill up with rinse aid 3 If you wish to use “3in1” dete rgent, please do the following: – First r ead the section “Using 3in1 deter gents” .
13 Setting electronically: 1. Press the ON/OFF button. 3 If the name of a progr amme stage is displayed in the display , a dish- washing cycle is active. Fir st of al l you must abort the dishwashing cy- cle: – Press the RESET button. CONFIRM CA NCEL? appear s in the display .
14 Adding special salt To decalcify the water softener , it must be filled up with special salt. Use only special salt suitable for domes tic dishwashers. If you do not use 3in1 detergent, fill up with special salt: – Before using the dishwasher for the fir st time.
15 Filling up with rinse aid With rinse aid the rinsing water dr ains away better and so you get smear-free, gleaming dishes and clear glasses. If you do not use 3in1 detergent, fill up with rinse aid: – Before using the dishwasher for the fir st time.
16 Setting the am ount of rinse aid r equir ed 3 Only change the amount dispensed, if smears, milky spots (r educe the amount) or dried on water spots (inc rease the amount) can be seen on glasses and dishes. (See section “I f dishwashing results ar e not satisfac- tory” .
17 Setting the acoustic signal: In addition to the optical display (e.g. indicating the end of the cycle, error s) you can also choose to set an acoustic signal. 1. Press the ON/OFF button. 3 If the name of a progr amme stage is displayed in the display , a dish- washing cycle is active.
18 In daily use Loading cutlery and dishes 1 Sponges, cleaning cloths and any other objects that can absorb water must not be washed in the dishwash er . Plastic and Teflon-coated dishes and pans tend to retain water dr oplet s. These dishes and pans therefor e do not dry as well as those made of china and stainless steel.
19 Loading cutlery 1 War n in g : Sharp knives and other items of cutlery with sharp edges must be laid in the cutlery rack or in the upper basket because of the risk of injury . Place knives, sma ll spoons and small forks in the cutlery tra y which is in the upper basket.
20 The cutlery basket can be opened out. Always make sure that you put your hand around both parts of the two- part handle when r emoving it from the dishwasher . 1. Place the cutlery basket on a table or work surface. 2. Open out the two-part handle.
21 Cups, Glasses, Coffee Service Load smaller , fragile cr ockery and long, sharp cutlery in the upper bas- ket. • Arrange items of cr ockery on and under the folding cup racks so that they ar e offset from each other and water can reach all items. • The cup rac ks can be folded up out of the way for tall cr ockery items.
22 • The row of spikes on the left of the upper basket is also in two parts and can be folded away . Spikes not folded away: place glasses, mugs etc. in the upper basket. Spikes folded away: More r oom for serving dishes. Adjusting the height of the upper basket 3 The height of the baskets can also be adjusted when they are loaded.
23 Adding deter gent Detergents r emove the dirt fr om dishes and cutlery . The detergent must be added befor e the cycle starts. 1 Only use detergent intended for do- mestic dishwasher s. The detergent compartment is lo- cated on the inside of the door .
24 Concentr ated detergents To day’s detergents for dishwasher s ar e almost exclusively low-alkaline concentrated deter gents with natu ral enzymes in tablet or powder form.

26 Starting a di shwashing cycle 1. Check that the spray arms can turn fr eely . 2. Turn the water tap on fully . 3. Close the door . 4. Press the ON/OFF button. 5. Using the direction buttons ( or ) select the desired cycle. The name of the selected dishwashing cycle will flash.
27 Interrupting or aborti ng a dishwash ing cycle Only interrupt a dishwashing cycle that is in progr ess if it is absolutely necessary . Interrupting the dishwashing pr ogramme by opening the dishwash- er door 1 Hot steam may escape when the door is opened.
28 Cancelling a delay start: Y ou can cancel a delay start that is counting down at any time. 1. Press the RESET button. In the display: CONFIRM CANCEL ? 2. Press the OK/ST ART button. The delay start is cancelled. The di shwasher cycle that is set begins.
29 Car e and cleaning 1 Do not use furnitur e care pr oducts or aggressive cleaners. • When necessary , clean the dishwasher’s controls with a soft cloth and clean warm water . • Occasionally check the internal dispensers, door seal and water inlet filter (if fitted) for dirt and clean them, if necessary .
30 What to do if … Resetting the language Y ou can reset the language of the display to the factory setting at any time. As well as the language, the CONTRAST and BRIGHTNESS settings are also r eset. 1. Press the RESET button r epeatedly un til the display in the display no longer changes.
31 Malfunction Possible cause Remedy 1 short warnin g tone , continuously r epeated, can be heard, in the display: OPEN THE TAP Water tap is blo cked with limescale or faulty . Check the water tap and have it re paired if necessary . The tap is turned off.
32 If the dishwashing resu lts are not satisfactory The dishes are still dirty . • The wrong dishwashing cycle was selected. • The dishes were loaded is such a way that the dishwashing water did not re ach all items. The baskets for the dishes must not be overload- ed.
33 The dishes do not dry and are not shining. • P oor quality rinse aid was used. • The rinse aid dispenser is empty . There ar e smears, streaks , milky spot s or a shiny bluish coating on glasses and dishes. • Lower rinse aid dosage. There ar e dried water drop s on the glasses and dishes.

37 Installation and connection instructions 1 Safety information for the installation • Only transport the dishwasher in an upright position, otherwise salt water may run out. • Before using the dishwasher f or the fir st ti me, check for any damage caused in transport.
38 Installing the dishwasher • The dishwasher must be installed on a firm floor and adjusted to en- sure that it is stable and level in all directions. • To compensate for unevenness in the floor and to match the height of the appliance to that of sur- rounding units, extend the thr ead- ed feet using a screwdriver .
39 Connecting the dishwasher Connecting to the water supply • The dishwasher can be connected to cold and hot water supplies up to max. 60°C. • The dishwasher must not be connec te d to open hot water appliances or instantaneous water heaters.
40 W ater drainage Drain hose 1 The drain h ose must not be kinked, crushed or entangled. Connecting the dra in hose: – Maximum permitted height: 1 metre. – Minimum requir ed height: 40 cm above the bottom edge of the ap- pliance. 41 Anti-flood system For protection fr om water damage, the dishwasher is equipped with a anti-flood system. In the event of a fault, the safety valve in the water inlet hose immedi- ately interrupts the supply of wate r to the appliance and the dr ain pump is activated.
42 Electrical Connection Any electrical work requir ed to install this appliance should be car- ried out by a qualified elec tr ician or competent person. 1 WARNING - This appliance must be earthed. The manufacturer declines any r esp onsibility should these safety measures not be observed.
