6 Gener al Safety • Repairs to the dishwasher ar e only to be carried out by qualified/au- thorised service engineers. • When the dishwasher is not being used, switch it off and shut off the water tap. • Never unplug the appliance by pullin g on the cable.

9 Switching on for the first time – setting the language 1. Press the ON/OFF button. First of all HELLO appear s in the dis- play . As soon as the dishwasher is ready for use, this is replaced by LANGUAGE ENGLISH; the word ENGLISH is flashing. 2. Using the dir ection buttons ( or ) select the desired language.
10 Display The info status bar consists of a r ow of individual lamps that is divided into two sections: the left sect ion refer s to the Progr ammes menu, the right section to the Options menu. • In the Pr ogrammes and Options menus you can see at what stage within a cycle you curr ently are (the r elevant lamp flashes).
11 Basic oper ation This section contains basic informat ion r egar ding the use of your dish- washer . Please read this section very carefully . An overview of the menus 1. not available with all models The Progr ammes menu • After switching on the dishwasher yo u will find you rself in the Pr o- grammes menu.
12 The Settings sub-menu Go to the desired setting using the direction buttons ( or ). In the info status bar your position within the sub-menu is always shown . • LANGUAGE To set the language of the text line in the display; also see the section “Resetting the language” .
13 Prior to Using for the First Time 3 If you wish to use 3 in 1 detergent: – F i rs t re ad t h e s ec t i o n “U s i n g 3 i n 1 d et e rg e n ts ” . – Do not fill up with special salt or rinse aid. If you do not use 3in1 detergent, befor e using for the first time 1.
14 Setting electronica lly: 1. Press the ON/OFF button. 3 If the name of a progr amme stage is displayed in the display , a dish- washing cycle is active. Fir st of all you must cancel the dishwashing cy- cle: – Press the RESET button. CONFIRM CA NCEL? appear s in the display .
15 Adding dishwasher Salt To decalcify the water softener , it mu st be filled up with dishwasher salt. Use only special salt suitable for domestic dis hwashers. If you do not use 3 in1 detergent, fill up with dishwasher salt: – Before usin g the dishwasher for the first ti me.
16 Filling Up with Rinse Aid Rinse aid causes the rinse water to fl ow easily from the cr ockery leav- ing gleaming dishes and glassware. If you do not use 3in1 detergent, fill up with rinse aid: – Before usin g the dishwasher for the first ti me. – If when starting a dishwashing cy cle the message REFILL RINSE AID is displayed.
17 Setting the Amount of Rinse Aid Requir ed 3 Only change the amount dispensed, if smears, milky spots (reduce the amount) or dried on water spots (inc rease the amount) can be seen on glasses and dishes. (See section “If di shwashing results are not satisfac- tory” .
18 In daily use Loading cutlery and dishes 1 Sponges, cleaning cloths and any ot her objects that ca n absorb water must not be washed in the dishwash er . Plastic and Teflon-coated dishes and pans tend to r etain water dr oplet s. These dishes an d pans therefor e do not dry as well as those made of china and stainless steel.
19 Loading cutlery 1 War n i n g : Sharp knives and other items of cutlery with sharp edges must be laid in the cutl ery ra ck or in the upper basket because of the risk of injury . Place knives, sma ll spoons and small forks in the cutlery tray which is in the upper basket.
20 Loading / Unloading lower basket and upper basket To load and unload, pull out or push in the upper and lower baskets in the middle using the handle on the front of the basket. Po t s, Pa n s, L a rg e P l a te s Load larger and heavily soiled dishes and pans in the lower basket.
21 Beer glasses and cham- pagne glasses Up to four wheat be er glasses, Pils glasses, etc. can be hung in the beer glass holders on the lefthand side in the bottom basket.
22 The bars that fix the beer glass holder s or cup r acks can be r e- moved, if requir ed. 1. Push the bar s back using the thumbs (see the picture). 1 Important: Risk of injury: Do not take hold of the bar s with the hand; place the hand under the bars on the cutlery basket for sup- port.
23 • The cup r acks can be folded up out of the way for tall cr ockery items. • Lay or hang wine and b randy glasses in the slots in the cup rac k s . • For glasses with long stems, fold the glass r ack to the right, other- wise fold it away to the left.
24 Adjusting the Height of the Upper Basket 3 The height of the baskets can also be adjusted when they are loaded. Raising / Lowering the upper bas- ket 1. Pull out the upper basket complete- ly . 2. Holding the upper basket by the handle, ra ise it as far as it will go and then lower it vertically .
25 Adding Deter gent De t e rge n t s re mo v e t h e di r t f ro m dishes and cutlery . The detergent must be added befor e the cycle starts. 1 Only use deter gent intended for do- mestic dishwashers. The detergent compartment is lo- cated on the inside of the door .
26 Concentr ated deter gents Today’ s deter gents for dishwasher s are al most exclusively low-alkaline concentrated deter gents with natu r al enzymes in tablet or powder form.
27 Using 3in1 deter gents These products ar e deter gents with a combined cleaning, rinsing and salt function. When the 3in1 functi on is activated, – the addition of special salt and rins e aid fr om the r espective dispenser is prevented. – If the salt and rinse aid dispensers are empty , this is not indicated.
28 Selecting the dishwash ing cycle (Cycle T able) Dishwashing- cycle Suitable for: Type of soiling Progr amme sequence Consumption values 1) 1) The consu mption values were obtained under standardised conditions. They depend on how full the baskets for th e dishes are.

30 Selecting a pr ogr amme When your dishes look like this, select: an intensive progr amme. a normal or energy-saving pr o- gramme. a short progr amme (e.
31 Starting a Dishwashing Cycle 1. Check that the spray arms can turn fr eely . 2. Turn the water tap on fully . 3. Close the door . 4. Press the ON/OFF button. 5. Using the dir ection buttons ( or ) select the desired cycle. The name of the selected dishwashing cycle will flash.
32 Interrupting or Cance lling a dishwashing cycle Interrupt a dishwashing cycle that is in pr ogress if it is absolutely nec- essary . Interrupting the dishwashing progr amme by opening the dishwash- er door 1 Hot steam may escape when the door is opened.
33 Cancelling a delay start: Y ou can cancel a delay sta rt that is counting down at any time. 1. Press the RESET button. In the display: CONFIRM CANCEL ? 2. Press the OK/START button. The delay start is cancelled. The di shwasher cycle that is set beg ins.
34 Car e and cleaning 1 Do not use furniture care pr odu cts or aggressive cleaner s. • When necessary , clean the dishwasher ’s contr ols with a soft cloth. • Occasionally check the internal di spenser s, door seal and water inlet filter (if fitted) for dirt and clean them, if necessary .
35 5. Remove the flat filter (3) fr om the base of the washing compartment and clean both surfaces thor oughly . 6. Re-insert the flat filter . 7. Place the fine filter in the micro-fil- ter and fit the two together . 8. Insert the filter system in place and lock it by turning the handle clock- wise as far as it will go.
36 3. Place cleaned upper basket spray arm back in position against the connect- ing piece: press the two together firmly , until you feel them snap into place. Bottom spray arm 1. To r emove bottom spray arm, pull it upwards out of its catch. 2. Clean spray arm jets.
37 What to do if … Resetting the language Y ou can reset the language of the di splay to the factory set ting at any time. As well as the language, the CONTRAST 1 and BRIGHTNESS settings are also r eset. 1. Press the RESET button repeatedly un til the display in the display no longer changes.
38 Malfunctio n Possible cause Remedy 1 short warning tone , continuously repeated, can be heard, in the display: OPEN THE TA P Water tap is blocked with limescale or faulty . Check the water tap and have it repaired if necessary . The tap is turned o ff.
39 The cycle is not starting . The mains plug is not plugged i n. Plug in main s plug. A fuse in the house’s wiring system is defective. Replace fuse. For dishwasher models with a delay start timer: A start time has been select- ed. If the dishes are to be washed immediately , cancel the delay start.
40 If the Dishwashing Results ar e not Satisfactory The dishes are still dirty . • The wrong dishwashing cycle was selected. • The dishes were loaded is such a way that the dishwashing water did not reach all items. The baskets for the dishes must not be overload- ed.
41 Disposal 2 Packaging material The packaging materials are envir onmentally friendly and can be r ecy- cled. The plastic components are id entified by markings, e.g. >PE<, >PS<, etc. Please dispose of the pa ckaging materials in the appropriate container at your local waste disposal facilities.

46 Installing the Dishwasher • The dishwasher must be installed on a firm floor and adjusted to en- sure that it is stable and level in all dir ections. • To compensate for unevenness in the floor and to match the height of the appliance to that of sur- rounding units, extend the thr ead- ed feet using a screwdriver .
