8 Displa y and contr ol panel Function buttons: In addition to the dishwashing cycle, the f ollowing functions can also be set with the help of these buttons: The indicator has the f ollowing meaning: 3 The control indicator ne ver illuminates while a wash progr amme is running.
9 W ater softener T o a void scale deposits on the dishes and in the dish- washer , the dishes must be washed with soft w ater , i.e. w ater with a low lime content. The dishw asher theref ore has a built-in w ate r softener , in which tap water with a hardness of 4°d (German degree) and harder is softened with the aid of special salt.
10 Setting electr onically: 5. Press the ON/OFF button. The LED indicators f or all the buttons in the con- trol panel that are now ab le to be selected will become illuminated. 3 If the only LED indicator illuminated is one that belongs to a programme b utton, this means that this dishwashing cycle has been activated.
11 Special salt f or the water softener 3 If the water hardness in y our area is less than 4 °d, then the water in y our dishwasher does not need to be softened and you do not need to use special salt or salt substitute.
12 Adding special salt If you are using dishwasher detergent and special salt separately , add the special salt: • Bef ore using the dishwasher f or the first time. • When the t indicator f or special salt is illumi- nated on the control panel. 1.
13 Rinse aid Rinse aid ensures that your dishes gleam and are free from spots, and that y our glasses are clear . Rinse aid can be added in one of tw o wa ys: • If you are using dishw asher detergent that already contains rinse aid, the detergent including the rinse aid is put into the detergent compar tment.
14 Adding rinse aid If you are using dishw asher deterg ent and rinse aid separately , add the rinse aid: – Bef ore using the dishwasher f or the first time. – When the H indicator on the control panel is illuminated. The rinse aid compar tment is on the inside of the dishwasher door .
15 Activ ating/deactiv ating the acoustic signal The acoustic signal can indicate acoustically: – at which water hardness the w ater softener is set. – when a dishwashing cycle has finished. – when an error has occurred with the dish- washer . Y ou can s witch on/off the acoustic si gnal in the f ollow- ing way: 1.

18 Loading P ans, Frying Pans and Large Plates Load large and heavil y soiled dishes in the lo wer bas- ket (Plates up to 29cm in diameter). Y our dishwasher has one of the f ollowing two types of low.
19 Loading Cups, Glasses and Coffee Services Load small, delicate items and long pointed cutlery in the upper basket. • Arrange plates and dishes offset on and under the f olding cup rac ks so that washing w ater can reach all items. • The cup racks can be f olded up out of the way f or tall items.
20 Filling with Deter gent 1 Only use dishwasher detergent. Fill with detergent: Prior to the star t of a wash progr amme (not f or the pre wash progr amme). The detergent is released into the wash w a ter during the programme. 2 Please observe the manuf acturer's dosing and storage recommendations as stated on the detergent packaging.
21 Use of "3 in 1"/ Combi Detergent Ta b l e t s General Advice These products are tablets with combined detergent/ rinse-aid and salt functions.
22 Selecting the W ash Pr ogramme (Pr ogramme T able) Choose the most suitable w ash programme with the aid of this tab le: 1) The v arious stages in the wash progr amme have diff erent sounds because the dishes are washed more intensely f or shor t periods dur ing cer tain stages of the wash progr amme to improv e cleaning.
23 Star ting a dishwashing cyc le 1. Check that the dishes and cutlery are stacked in the dishwasher in such a wa y that the spray arms are free to rotate. 2. T ur n on the tap fully . 3. Press the ON/OFF button. The LED indicators f or all the buttons in the con- trol panel that are now ab le to be selected will become illuminated.
24 Switching off the dishwasher If the acoustic signal has been enab led, a continuous tone will sound f or 15 seconds at the end of the dish- washing cycle. 1 Hot steam ma y escap e if the door is opened immediately after the cycle has ended. Theref ore: 1.
25 Care and Cleaning 1 Do not under any circumstances use fur ni- ture care products or aggressiv e cleaners. • If necessar y , clean the controls only with a soft cloth and pure warm water . • Occasionally check the internal containers, door seal, and water inlet f or soiling, clean if necessar y .

32 Connecting the Dishwasher W ater Connection The dishwasher is fitted with saf ety devices that pre- vent the w ash water returning into the dr inking water system and comply with the applicable plumbing reg- ulations. • The dishwasher can be connected to cold and hot water supplies up to max.

34 W ater drain Drain hose 1 The drain hose m ust not be kinked, crushed or entangled. • Connecting the drain hose: – Maximum permitted height: 1 metre. – Minimum required height 40 cm above the low er edge of the machine. Extension hoses • Extension hoses are av ailab le from your dealer or customer ser vice.
35 Electrical Connection Any electrical work requ ired to install thi s appliance should be carri ed out by a qualified electrician or competent person. 1 WARNING - This appliance must be earthed. The manufacturer declines any responsi- bility should these safety measures not be observed.
