2.2 Inserting the batteries This camcorder is designed to use a rechargeable Li-ion bat tery. Only use the battery supplied or similar batt eries recommended by the manufacturer or your dea ler. z Note : Install th e battery exactly as described here.

2.3 Charging the battery You can charge the batt ery with the charging unit provided. Follow the below steps to charge your battery. 1. Insert the Li-ion batter y into t he char ging bay. Connect one end of the power cord to the charging unit and then plug the other end to th e wall outlet as shown.

3 Using the camcorder Read this section to learn h ow to use the camcorder. 3.1 Camcorder and voice recorder mode Use this mode to capture video clips or record voic e and store them on an SD car d.

4 Using the menus Read this section to learn h ow to configure the camcorder settings and use the advanced features. 4.1 Camcorder menu When in Camcorder mode, press the Menu bu tton to show the camcorder option s menu. 4.1. 1. White balance Use this option to correct color difference for different lightin g conditions.

4.2 Camcorder playback menu Use the playback menu to manage the files stored on the SD card. 4.2. 1 Delete Use this function to delete files. 1. Turn the camcorder on and ensure it is in Ca mcorder mode. Press the Playback button and then press the Menu butto n to display the Ca mcorder Play back menu.
If you select Delete All , pre ss the center joystick b utton to display the submenu. 3. Move the joystick left and right to select X or √ and press the center joystick button to delete. 4. Press the Menu butto n agai n to e xit the menu . z Note : Once deleted, files cannot be recovered so make sure you have a backup before you de lete.
4.2. 2 Protect Use this function to lock files to prevent accidental delet ion. 1. Turn the camcorder on and ensure it is in Ca mcorder mode. Press the Playback button and then press the Menu butto n to display Camcord er Playback menu. 2. Move the joystick up and down to select the Prote ct option.
4.3 Camera menu In Camera mode, press the Menu b utton to show the Camera Options me nu. 4.3. 1 White balance Use this option to correct color difference due to lighting conditions. 1. 4.3. 2 Resolu tion Use this option to set the size of the captured image. Larger images contain more detail and therefore use more memory space. 1. 4.4. 3 Slide s how The camcorder includes a slide show function, which displays each image in turn with a regular int erval between pictures. 1. 5 Installing the software and drivers Read this section to learn h ow to i nstall t he software for the camera. 5.1 Presto! Video Works Presto! Video Wo rks is an adva nced software application for editing video. To install Presto! Video Works: 1. Insert the supplied CD into the CD-ROM drive.
