11 2. Safety A wareness when Mo wing a. Do not oper ate on steep slopes , those abov e 15 degrees ( 27% slope). b . A void turning downhill if possible , use extra care and go slo wly . c. A void turning when going do wnhill, traction is at a minimum going do wnhill.
12 4. Electric Blade Clutch Switc h: (See Figure 1.) Located on the right side of the mo wer beside the ignition s witch. This is an “on/off ” push-pull s witch that controls the electric bl ade clutch which supplies power to the cut - ting blad es through the PT O.
13 G. Initial Adjustments 1. Chec k the fluid levels and tires: Note: These checks should be made daily , befo re star ting the engine. a. Fuel: Using a good grade of unleaded, re gu - lar gasoline, fill the fu el tank (beside the engine on the left side of the mower).

25 P erformance Adjustments A. High Speed T racking Adjustment If mow er tracks to one side wi th both lap bars in fully f orward position: 1. Check air pressure in all f our tires: a. Pressure should be within specif ied ranges and balanc ed side-to-side.
26 C. Deck Corner Ball Wheel Roller Settings 1. Matching the set heights of the ball rollers on the f our cor ners of the mo wer deck to the desired cut height will pre vent edg e scalping and minimize an y side-to-side variance in cut height. 2. There are five height adjustment holes in the brac ket that mount the ball rollers to the dec k.
27 F .Deck le veling Procedure 1. Park the mower on a flat pa ved surf ace, engage the parking brak e, shut off the engine, remov e the ke y from the igniti on s witch, disconnect the spar k plug wires and using the l ift pedal, posi - tion the mowing deck into the 3" height of cut position.

29 SLOPE GAUGE Do not mow on inclines with a slope in excess of 15 degrees (a ri se of app roximately 2-1/2 feet every 10 feet). A rid ing mower could overturn and ca use serious injury. If operating a walk-be h ind mower on such a slope, it is extremely difficult to mainta in your footing and you could slip, resulting in serious injury.
