Step 3 — Unit Location — The following guidelines should be considered when choosing a location for a WSHP: • Units are for indoor use onl y . • Locate in areas where ambient temperatures are between 40 F and 100 F and relative humidity is no greater than 75%.
Step 4 — Mounting the Unit HORIZONT AL UNITS (50RHC,RHR ,RHS) — H or i z on t a l u ni t s should be mounted using the factory-installed hangers. Proper attachment of hanging rods to building structure is critical for safety . See Fig. 4 and 13.
Step 6 — Condensate Drain HORIZONT AL UNITS (50RHC,RHR,RHS) — S l op e t he unit toward the drain at a 1 / 4 in. drop at drain end. See Fig. 15. If it is not possible to meet the required pitch, install a conden- sate pump at the unit to pump condensate to building drain.
W ater Supply and Quantity — Check water supply . W ater supply should be plentiful and of good quality . See T able 4 for water quality guidelines. In all applications, the quality of the water circulated through the heat exchanger must fall within the ranges listed in the W ater Quality Guidelines table.
Step 8 — Field P ower Suppl y Wiring All field installed wiring, including the electrical ground, MUST comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) as well as applicable local codes. In addition, all field wiring must conform to the Class II temperature limitations described in the NEC.

FIELD SELECT ABLE INPUTS Jumpers and DIP (dual in-line package) switches on the control board are used to customize unit operation and can be configured in the field. C Contr ol Jumper Settin gs (See Fig. 19) W A TER COIL FREEZE PROTECTION (FP1) LIMIT SETTING — Se le ct jum pe r 3, (J W3- FP 1 Lo w T em p) to choose FP1 limit of 10 F or 30 F .
boilerless operation mode, only the compressor is used for heating when FP1 is above th e boilerless changeover tempera- ture set by switch 8 below . Select ON for normal operation or select OFF for boilerless operation. Boilerless Changeover T emperature — Switch 8 on S1 pro- vides selection of boilerless ch angeover temperature set point.
during the reheat mode of operation. The hydronic coil is uti- lized during the reheat mode of ope ration to reheat the air to the set point of the proportional controller . Condenser water is di- verted by the motorized valve and pumped through the hydron- ic coil by the loop pump in proportion to the control set point.
Operating Limits ENVIRONMENT — This equipment is design ed for indoor installation ONL Y . Extreme va ri ations in temperature, hu- midity and corrosive water or air will adversely affect the unit performance, reliability and service life. POWER SUPPL Y — A voltage variation of ± 10% of nameplate utilization voltage is acceptable.
Unit Start-Up Heating Mode NOTE: Operate the unit in heating cycle after checking the cooling cycle. Allow 5 minutes between tests for the pressure or reversing valve to equalize. 1. T urn thermostat to lowest setting and set thermostat switch to HEA T position.
