3 [ Cleaning Unplug the set from the wall outlet befor e cleaning or polishing it . Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosol cleaner s. Use a cl oth lightly dampened with water for c leaning t he exteri or of the set.
4 Read this first Replace the battery with the specified type only. Otherwise , fire or injury may res ult. Do not expose the batteries to excessive heat such as sunshine, f ire or the like. [ RECYCLING LITHIUM-ION BATTERIES Lithium-I on batteries are recyclable.

8 Notes on using the camera [ Int ernal memory and “ Memory Stick Duo” back up Do not turn off the camera , remove the battery pack, or remove the “Memory S tick Duo” while the access lamp is lit. Otherwise, the internal memo ry d ata or “ Mem or y Stick Duo” may be damaged.

10 1 Preparing the bat tery pack 1 Insert the battery pack into the batte ry charger. 2 Connect the battery charger to the wall outlet (wall socket). The CHARGE lamp lights up, and charging starts. When the CHARGE lamp turns off, charging is finished (Normal charge).
11 2 Inserting the bat tery pack/a “Memory Stick Duo” (not supplied) 1 Open the battery/“Mem ory Stick Duo” cover. 2 Insert the “M emory Stick Du o” (not supp lied). 3 Insert the battery pack. 4 Close the battery/“Memory Stick Duo” cover.

17 Shooting in Smile Shu tter mode Whe n the ca mer a de tects a smil e, the shut ter is rele ase d auto mati cal ly. 1 Select (Smile Sh utter) mode from the mode dial. 2 Press the shutter button halfway down to adjust th e focus while aiming the camera at th e subject t o be shoot.
18 Viewi ng/ del eting im ages 1 Press (Playback). If you press when the camera is powered off, the camera is turned on automatically and set to playback mode. To switch to the shooting mode, press again. 2 Select an image with b / B on the contro l button.

20 [ To view images on TV Connect the ca mera to t he TV with the cable f or mult i-use terminal (suppli ed). To vi ew on HD (H igh D efiniti on) TV, an H D Out put A daptor Cable (not suppl ied) i s neede d. • If you set the image s ize to [16:9], you can record images in the size that fills the entire screen of the HD TV.
21 Learn ing th e variou s func tio ns – HOME/ Menu Using the HOME screen The H OME scre en is the ga teway sc reen for al l the func tions of the c amera, and can b e called up rega rdless of the m ode se tting ( shooting/vie wing). 1 Press HOME to display the HOME screen.

35 The remaining charge indicator is incorrect. • This pheno menon occu rs when you use the cam era in an extre mely hot or cold loc ation. • A discre pancy aros e between the remaini ng charge indicator and the ac tual remai ning ba ttery charge.
