8 O VEN TIMER OPERA TION SET TING THE TIME OF DA Y Step 1 Make sure all oven contr ols are turned Off. Step 2 Check the electricity supply to the cooker is turned on. Step 3 When switched on the display will sho w 0.00 and Auto symbol wil l be flashing intermittently .
9 O VEN TIMER OPERA TION Step 3 Press and hold in the C ook P eriod button. The display will r ead 0.00 with the cookpot ( ) symbol lit . Step 4 With the Cook P eriod button still held in, set the required C oo k Period using the “+” and “–” buttons.
10 O VEN TIMER OPERA TION Step 4 Press & hold in the “ Cook P eriod” button, the display will read 0.00 and the cookpot ( ) symbol will light up. With the Cook P eriod button still held set the required C ook Pe riod using the “+” and “–” buttons.
11 O VEN TIMER OPERA TION O THER NO TES ON TIMER OPERA TION 1. When cooking Automatically the C ook Period can be checked at an y time simply by pressing the Cook P eriod button. 2. When cooking Automatically the End Time can be checked at any t ime b y simply pressing the End Time button.
The hotplate lid is fitt ed with a safety device which cuts off the gas supply to the hotplate burners unless the lid is fully open. Do not use the s afety device as a means of controlling the hotpla te burners.
13 HO TPLA TE SAFET Y REQUIREMENTS FOR DEEP F A T FRYING 1. Never fill chip pans more than one third full with oil or fat . 2. Never leav e oil or fat unattended during the heating or cooli ng period . 3. Never heat fat or fr y with a lid on the pan. 4.
CA UTION – A C CESSIBLE P ARTS MA Y BEC OME HO T WHEN THE GRILL IS IN USE. Y OUNG CHILDREN SHOULD BE KEPT A W A Y . GRILL P AN HANDLE The grill pan handle is detachable from the pan to facilitat e cleaning. T he handle can be either detachable from or fix ed to the pan.
The f ollowing char t is a guide . Grilling can be star ted fr om co ld but for best results preheat f or approxima tely two minutes. Most cooking is done wit h the heat on full, but it may be desir able to reduce it f or thicker pieces of meat or for keeping food warm.
The main ov en can be used in two differ ent modes. The choic e of mode is selected by the “Duo Mode” butt on on the fascia, pressing in for fan mode.
T O USE THE MAIN O VEN 1. Check that the electricit y supply is swit ched on and the timer is set to manual mode. 2. Place o ven shelves in the chosen positions . (refer t o cooking charts). 3. Selec t the o ven mode with the “Duo Mode ” button on the fascia, ( in ) for fan mode for ( out ) f or con ventional mode .
C OLD ST ART C OOKING Anything r equiring long slow cooking such as casseroles and ric h fruit cak es can be put into a cold o ven. Satisfactor y r esults can also be obtained with creamed mixture, rich pastries or yeast mixtures, but f or per fection we rec ommend preheating the ov en for about 15 minutes a t the gas mark you require f or cooking.

The ‘Slow C ook ’ setting on the main o ven thermostat is used for slo w cooking in con- v entional mode only , keeping food warm and warming plates f or shor t periods. USING THE ‘SL OW C OOK’ SET TING FOR SL OW C OOKING 1. All dishes cooked by the ‘Slow C ook ’ setting should be cooked for a minimum 6 hours.
The top o ven can be used to cook small quan tities of food or us ed in conjunction with the main ov en to provide additional c ook ing space . The shelf in the top o ven has a heat shield fitted a t the rear . The shield can be removed for cleaning and grilling , but must be replaced when using the oven.
The follo wing times and setting are for guidance only . Y ou may wish to alter the setting to giv e a result more to y our satisfaction. When a different setting to tha t shown below is given in a r ecipe, the recipe instructions should be followed .

27 CARE AND CLEANING Take particular care not to damage the inner sur fac e of the door inner glass that is coat ed with a heat reflective la yer . Do not use scouring pad s , or abrasiv e powder , which will scrat ch the glass. Ensure that the glass panel is not subjected to an y sharp mechanical blows .

32 SP A CE FOR FIXING The cooker can be close fitted below hotpla te level. This r equires a minimum distance of 600mm between cupboard units of hotpla te height. When installing next to a tall cupboard , par tition or wall, for a minimum distanc e of 400mm abov e hotplate level, allo w a side clearance of at least 65mm.

34 ST ABILIT Y BRACKET The back of the cooker has a slot for engagemen t of a stability bracket, which can be obtained , as an extra, from your cooker supplier .
35 C ONNECTING TO GAS SUPPL Y The cooker is designed to mat ch the depth of standard 600mm wor ktops. A n adaptor backplate should, ther efore , be fitted within the shaded area shown to allow the cooker to be pushed fully to the wall. Connection to the cooker should be made with an approv ed appliance flexible connection to BS 669.
Connection to the electricity supply should be made via a proper ly earthed , readily accessible wall socket which is adjacent to but not directly abov e, and not more than 1.25m a way from the appliance and capable of electrical isolation. The mains lead should be routed such tha t it cannot touch hot par ts of the cooker i.
