Pass the attaching end of the wrist strap through the back bracket on the camcorder , thre ad the wrist strap through the loop and fasten.

23 The Button: Mode or Flexible Recording The camcorder offers two basic modes fo r re cord in g v id eo or st ill im ag es : mode for beginne rs or if yo u just prefer not to bother with detailed camcorder settings, and flexible recording mode which lets you change the camc order's settings to your pr eference.
Preparations 24 Operating Modes The camcorder's o perating mode is determined by the po sition of the mo de dial. In this manual, indicates that a function is ava ilable in the operating mode shown and indicates that the function is not available.
25 Using the Menus Many of the ca mcor der’ s functions can be adjusted fr om the menus that open after pressing the FUNC. button ( ). T o access the menus set the camcor der to flexible rec ording mode. In mode, except for a few exceptions, most menu settings will return to their default values ( 23).
Preparations 26 Selecting an Option from the Setup M enus 1 Press . 2 Select ( ) the icon and press to open the setup menus. Y ou can also hold pr essed down for more than 1 seco nd or press on the wireless controll er to open directly the setup menus screen.
27 Setting the Date and Time Y ou will need to set the date and time of the camcor der before you can s tart using it. The [DA TE/TIME] scr een will appear automati cally when the camcor der’ s clock is not set. When the [DA TE/T IME] screen appears, the year wi ll be displayed in orange and indicated with up/down arrows.

Preparations 30 Inserting and Removing a Memory Card Make sure to initialize all memory car ds before using them with this camcor der (3 1 ) . 1 T urn off the camc order . 2 Open the LCD panel. 3 Slide toward the right to open the memo ry card slot cover .

NOTES • The still image cannot be recorded simultaneously while the digital zoom or a digital effect is activated. • T o recor d still images we recommend using the mode, which offers the best quality for still images.
67 NOTES The histogram will appear also after recor ding a still image, while r eviewing it within the time set for the [REVIEW] option (or immediately after recor ding it, if [REVIEW] is set to [ OFF]). Y ou can choose to turn of f the histogram by pressi ng ( 51) .

69 NOTES • If there is not enough space on the destination memory , the camcorder will copy as many still images as possible before stopping the operation. • If the memory card slot cover is open, or the LOCK switch on the me mory card is set to preven t writing, you will not be able to copy still images to the memory card.

External Connections 76 Attaching the F errite Core Attach the enclosed ferrit e core before you connect the STV -250N Stereo Video Cable to the camcorder . Attach the ferrite core to the cable about 10 mm from the plug end (the pl ug to be connected to the camcorder) of the STV -250N Stereo Vi deo Cable.
