61203022L1-1B T1 CSU ACE User Manua l 21 Chapter 1 Gene ral UNIT OVERVIEW The ADTRAN T1 Channel Servi ce Unit (CSU) Advan ced Communications Equipment (ACE) provides the T1 interface between customer premises equipment (CPE) such as channel banks, T1 multiplexers, and the carrier network as shown in Figure 1.

Local power can be s upplied by the customer’s own 12 to 48 volt suppl y, or by the wallmount p ower supply shipped with t he unit (see Figure 3).

It ma y also be loca lly powered by own 12 to 48 V power supply. Once power has been applie d to the unit, the POWER LED will be ill umi nated.

The diagram on the face of the unit shows each jack’s function, as seen in Figure 8.
