2-5 Installing the Co ntroller and Drives Why bu ild a RAID 5 ? This array level is suppo rted by your controller . It provides a versatile combin ation of performance a nd redundancy on a minimum of thr ee drives. Because RAID 5 uses parity , it is the safest, and most r ecoverable, of all RAID levels.

Caution: The AFU is easy to use and contains safeguar ds to prevent you from accidentally da maging the controller ’ s f lash contents.
