T o ensure that you get the maximum benefit from the engineering that has gone into your machine, we recommend that you read this manual carefully before attempting to assemble and use the T240 – T260.
Electrical Information CAUTION – This equipment is intended to be electrically grounded. The three-wire grounding plug (polarized) will fit only a grounded AC outlet. Do not use an extension cord or outlet if it does not accept three-wire grounding plugs.
BODYGUARD ® FITNESS T240 – T260 Limited W arranty Bodyguard ® Fitness warrants that product is in good working order and free of manufacturing defects in workmanship and materials.
Each T240 – T260 treadmill contains a L.E.D. (light emitting diode) computer display monitor . The control functions, unique programs and features have been designed with you in mind, to offer the best possible exercise by displaying important and clear information regarding your excercise progress.
7 SPEED indicates the treadmill belt speed in miles per hour or kilometers per hour , ranging from 0.50 to 10.00 mph or 0.80 to 16.00 km/h. DIST ANCE displays the total distance in miles or kilometers from the start of the exercise, ranging from 0.00 to 99.
• TREM (time remaning) indicates the amount of time left once a program has started. or DIST . REM (distance remaining) if you chose distance in your settings or CAL. REM (calories remaining) if you chose calories in your settings. • CAL./HOUR (calories per hour) indicates the hourly caloric expenditure based on your actual exercise.

2.3 W eight Unit Feature The weight unit can be selected to display in pounds or kilograms. T o select a weight unit: Enter into the Settings menu, see Section 2.1 . 1. Select the WEIGHT UNIT option, and press the JustGo ® /ENTER key to accept. 2. Select the weight unit you wish to be displayed on the screen.
select SP ACE (blank character) between the 9 and the A characters. Press the JustGo ® /ENTER key to accept this character . Now the second character must be selected. Repeat this procedure until you have selected a USER ID name. If you wish to modify a character before all six spaces are accepted, press the CLEAR/STOP key to backspace.
12 2.5 Distance Unit Feature The distance unit can be selected to display in miles or kilometers. T o select a distance unit: Enter into the Settings menu, see Section 2.1 . 1. Select the DIST ANCE UNIT option, and press the JustGo ® /ENTER key to accept.
The cool down has an adjustable duration of one to four minutes and has only one part. Cool down: Part 1: Is a half in intensity of the last segment exercise with a maximum of 3.5 mph (5.6 km/h). The calories, time and the distance are not accumulated in the “WARM UP OR COOL DOWN” modes.
2.10 Beeper Feature The beeper can be activated or deactivated. T o activate or deactivate the beeper: 1. Enter into the Settings menu, see Section 2.1. 2. Select the BEEPER option, and press the JustGo ® /ENTER key to accept. 3. Select the mode in which you wish the beeper to be.
2.14 Heart Rate Recovery (T260 only) Y our T260 is pre programmed with a unique and useful program that is used to help determine your fitness level. After a program (workout) the T260 can be used to countdown towards your predetermined resting heart rate.
JustGo ® Program The JustGo ® program allows you to start a manual exercise with the push of one key . Since the JustGo ® program is the initial program, it will always be displayed first for easy selection. Y ou have total control of the speed and elevation of the belt at all times during this program.
Speed Run Program (T260 only) The Speed Run like the Hill Climb controls a certain parameter . Speed Run is speed changes. Selecting a higher level will default a higher speed profile. Elevation changes are user controlled. The speed will change as you progress into the program.
Heart Rate Control Pr ogram (HRC) and Weight Loss Pr ogram The Heart Rate Control and W eight Loss Program allows you to exercise at a predetermined heart rate level.
During the exercise, the main computer screen will show a speed or elevation profile like the other programs, but will display your ACTUAL heart rate and your T ARGET heart rate on the message center . Once the exercise has started, your ACTUAL heart rate should be lower than the T ARGET heart rate.
Heart Rate Access Feature The Heart Rate Access feature allows you to selectively enter into a Heart Rate Control program without quitting your exercise. It will allow you to choose, when you are ready , to change your current workout to a Heart Rate Control.
The Bodyguard® Heart Rate receiver inside each T240 – T260 treadmill is specifically designed to work in conjunction with the optional Heart Rate chest strap. The Heart Rate chest strap allows the computer to monitor your heart rate, or pulses per minute.
T roubleshooting Check List T able 1 Possible Chest Strap Heart Rate Problems All Bodyguard ® machines are compatible with the Polar wireless heart rate system. This includes a chest strap and a receiver . The receiver is an integral part of the machine and it is hidden inside.
23 When you access the Diagnostics menu, you will notice the following message: “TXXX VERSION” The message above indicates the version of the computer software installed in your computer display monitor . This information is helpful in diagnosing certain computer related conditions.
Beeper test The beeper test will cause the beeper to sound. 1. Enter into Diagnostics menu, see Section 5.1. 2. Select the “BEEPER TEST” and accept it by pressing the JustGo ® /ENTER key . Listen for a series of “beeps”. The beeper test will stop automatically when you press the CLEAR/STOP key .
3. T o verify that the belt is properly aligned, slowly increase the speed to a maximum of 6.0 mph or 9.6 km/h, and let the belt turn for at least one minute.
26 Statistics The statistics allow you to view different parameters related to the use of your treadmill such as time and distance. 1. Enter into the Diagnostics menu, see Section 5.1. 2. Select the “ST A TISTICS” option and accept it by pressing the JustGo ® /ENTER key .
27 Maintenance The maintenance menu allows you to see the average value of the current drawn by the motor . It also allows you to reset this counter . A first threshold has been set to make sure that the normal high limit of current drawn by the motor will not be exceeded.
28 Belt and Running Deck Running Belt The running belt supplied with each treadmill is of the highest quality , offering superior traction and low noise under extreme conditions.

If you are unfamiliar or uncertain with basic diagnostic maintenance procedures, contact your Authorized Bodyguard ® Dealer for diagnostics or repair of your T240 – T260.
