1 Intr oduc tion Thank you for pur chasing the Ac t ion te c Dual PC Modem. This easy to use M o dem is the simplest way t o connect up to tw o comput ers to a single phone line and share y our internet connection. The Dual PC Modem is perfect for the home office or small business.

3 Chapter 1 Intr oduction Rear Panel There are 5 ports (P ower , 2, 1, Line, and Phone) and a Reset S w itch on the r ear panel. R eset Switch Depressing the reset switch for one or tw o seconds will reset the Modem. T o r estore t o factory default setting s, depress and hold for at least 10 seconds.

Phone Port This port is used to connect a phone cor d between the Modem and a telephone. 25 Chapter 4 C ustom Setup S etting the IP Address Range The beginning and ending IP addresses define the IP address range of the Modem. If the default values are left intact, the Modem supplies a unique IP address between 192.168.0.4 and 192.168.0.254 to each c omputer on the network.

The “Curre nt Status” screen appears, displaying many of the Modem ’ s settings. N o settings (other than connecting or disconnecting fr om the Internet) can be changed from the C urrent Status screen.
27 Utilities To access the Dual PC Modem ’ s utilities, select Ut ilities from the “Main M enu ” screen. The “Utilities” scr een appears. Fr om here, the Modem ’ s factory default settings can be restored, the active user list vi ewed, and the firmwar e upgraded.
