Chapter1 Introduction This 802.1 1g wireless network ad apter is a plug and play 32-bit CardBus PCMCIA adapter and offers hig h-speed wireless connection up to 54Mbps. It shares the same 2.4GHz radio band with 802.1 1b product s so it can interoperate with existing 802.

1.5 Wireless CardBus Adapter Hardware Description The LED illuminates to indicate that the card is functioning. Please refer to the hardware diagram below. The lower LED is used to indicate the link status of the client. When the clie nt is associated, LED is on.

Chapter2 Installation and Configuration Procedures 2.1 Installation Procedures In Windows98 This wireless LAN CardB us adapter driver and ut ility are contained in the utility CD we provide.

2.6 Installation Procedures In Windows2000 The Wireless LAN CardBus Adapter Wi ndows driver ships with the Wireless CardBus Configuration Utility. If you have connected the Wireless CardBus Adapter to your computer , please remove it, cancel any hardware wizard that may show up, and start here.

2.6.3 TCP/IP Setup In Windows 2000 Configuring the TCP/IP setup allows the des ktop or la ptop equipped with a wireless LAN adapter to operate in infrastructure mode and to have the Internet access. So after the configuration utility and WLAN adapter driver are installed, the TCP/IP addre ss for the wireless LAN card must be configured.

7. T ype “ ipconfig ” at the F:> prompt to determine if the TCP/IP configuration has t aken effect. T o test IP connectivity in ad hoc or infrastructure mode, use the “ping <ip address>” command.

Y ou can click on the b ubble message and start t o configure the network adapter . 2.7.2 Verifying Your Installation In Windows XP To check if you have installed the driver su ccessfully, please follow the following steps.

Chapter3 Wireless LAN CardBus Adapter Utility 3.1 Wireless LAN Adapter Utility The user-friendly wireless LAN CardBu s Adapter Utility helps you to configure this WLAN adapter and monitor its conne ction status. You ca n change configuration p arameters while the adapter is active.

From the Statistics tab page, you can view t he instantaneous wi reless receive and transmit data information. 3.6 Wireless LAN Adapter Utility – Device Info Tab Click the Device Info tab and the followi ng screen will be displayed.

Chapter4 Using WinXP Built-in Wireless Network Configuration Utility There are two ways to configure the wire less LAN adapter un der Windows XP operating system. One is wireless LAN utility we provi de and the other one i s the Windows wireless network configuration ut ility Windows XP provides.

Click OK to save your configuration and clos e the Local Area Connection Prope rties dialog box. Right-click mouse button on the network icon on the sy stem tray and open the Connect to Wireless Network dialog box again. Click Adv anced button, and you can see that there is a blue circle on the wireless network ada pter icon.
