1 En • VOLTAGE SELECTOR (Asia and General models only) The voltage selector switch on the rear panel of this unit must be set for your local main voltage BEFORE plugging this unit into the AC main supply. Voltages are 110/120/220/230-240 V AC, 50/60 Hz.
2 En ◆ High 600 W dynamic power ◆ L.F.E input terminal ◆ Sleep timer ◆ Remote control capability You can make setting changes and adjustments for this unit by using the remote c ontrol from your listening position.
3 En GETTING ST ARTED ■ Front panel 1 Remote control sensor Receives signals from the remote control. 2 STANDBY/ON indicator Green : Lights up when this unit is on. Red : Lights up when this unit is in the standby mode. Orange : Lights up when the sleep timer is on.

5 En GETTING ST ARTED ■ Installing the batteri es in the remote control 1 Press the mark on the battery cover and open the cover. 2 Insert the two supplied type AA, R6, UM-3 batteries following the indications (+/–) inside the battery compartment.
6 En The position of the subwoofer is not so critical because bass sound is not highly direc tional. For a sonorous sound field, the use of two subwoofers is recommende d, althou gh you can obtain a good effect with one subwoofer.
7 En See pages 7 - 8 when your amplifier has subwoofer (line out) terminal(s), or se e pages 9 - 11 when your amplifier has no subwoofer (line out) terminal. • Do not connect the power cord of this unit and other components into an AC outlet until all connect ions between components ar e completed.
8 En CONNECTIONS ■ Using two s ubwoofers Connect the “R” side subwo ofer terminal of your amplifier to the INPUT 3 ( ) terminal on this unit using a commercially available mono pin cable, and co.
9 En CONNECTIONS Connect an amplifier (and front speakers) to this unit using co mmercially available speaker cables. Refe r to the following instructions to make connections. ■ Connecting to the sp eaker cable 1 Remove approximately 10 mm (3/8”) of insulation from each of the speaker cables.
10 En CONNECTIONS When y our amplifier has one set of fr ont speaker terminal s Connect the speaker terminals of the ampl ifier to the INPUT 1 terminals of this unit, and connect th e OUTPUT terminals of this unit to the front speakers using a comm ercially available speaker cable.
11 En CONNECTIONS When y our amplifier has t wo sets of f ront speaker terminals and both terminals c an output sound signals sim ultaneously • Connect one set of front speaker termin als of the amp.
12 En CONNECTIONS If this unit or the amplifie r makes a hamming noise when connecting to the speaker te rminals of your amplifier, connect both of the GND (ground) terminals on your amplifier and this unit usi ng commercia lly available grounding wire as shown in fig.
13 En Before using this unit, adjust the volu me balance of this unit to obtain the opt imu m volume and tone balance between the front speakers and this unit by following the procedures below. 1 Set POWER switch on the rear panel of this unit to the ON position, and then press POWER to turn on this unit.
14 En USING THIS UNIT You can store up to 3 sets of your favorite settings (volume, high-cut, phase and B.A.S.S. setting) in this uni t. ■ Storing t he setting In the following procedure, PRESET 1 is used as an example. 1 Adjust the sound balance between the volume, high cut, phase and B.
15 En USING THIS UNIT * This function is available only for Yamaha amplifiers that meet the following conditions: – The amplifier was released in 2005 or later. – The remote control of th e amplifier has two different buttons for STANDBY and ON. When the AMP ID library code of the remote control has been changed, this function may not work.

17 En In 1988, Yamaha brought to th e speaker systems utilizing YST (Yamaha Active Servo Te chnology) to give powerful, high quality bass re production. This technology uses a direct connection between th e amplifier and speaker, allowing accurate si gnal tran smission and precise speaker control.
18 En Refer to the chart below when this unit does not function properly. If the problem you are experiencing is not listed below or if the instructions given below do not help, disconnect the power cord and contact your authorized Yamaha dealer or service center.
