Important Safety Instructions Gas ranges have been thoroughly tested for safe and efficient operation. However, as with any appliance, there are specific installation and safety precautions which must be followed to ensure safe and satisfactory operation.
Important Safety Instructions Continued l Install or locate the range only in accordance with the provided Installation Instructions. It is recom- mended that the range be installed by a qualified installer. The range must be properly connected to the proper gas supply and checked for leaks.
l Do not use decorative covers or trivets over the surface burners. l Do not heat unopened containers. They could explode. The hot contents could cause burns and container particles could cause injury. l Grease is flammable and should be handled carefully.
Using Your Range / Using the surface burners Control knobs must be pushed in, then turned to the LITE position. The clicking sound is the ignition sparking. To stop the clicking sound after the burner lights, turn the control knob back to a desired setting.
In case of a prolonged power failure: Surface burners can be manually lighted. Hold a lighted match near a burner and turn the control to the LITE position. After the burner lights, turn the control to the desired setting. Burn, Fire and Explosion Hazard l Burner flame should not extend beyond the edge of the cooking utensil.
Using Your Range Continued Using the Minute Timer The Minute Timer does not start or stop the oven. It works like a kitchen timer. It can be set in minutes and seconds up to 9 hours 50 minutes. You will hear a tone when the set time is up. To set the Minute Timer: 1.
Using the oven controls Baking 1. Position the rack(s) properly before turning on the oven. To change rack position, pull rack out to stop, raise front edge and lift out. The rack(s) should be placed so the top of the food will be centered in the oven.

Because not all Cooking Guide information applies to this model, please read this section and the Cooking Guide carefully. 1. Position-the rack before turning the oven on. Refer to broiling chart on next page for recommended rack positions and broiling times.
Using Your Range Continued Broiling tips l The effective useful cooking area of the broiler is reduced when you use the higher rack positions. In the second from the top rack position, the infra-red rays cover only about 85% of the broiler grid area. .

Caring For Your Range Continued Removable cooktop 1. Remove surface burner grates and reflector pans. 2. Lift front of cooktop enough to clear front of range. Grasp both sides of the cooktop, lift and pull forward to remove. 3. Wipe surface under the cooktop with warm soapy water.
Removable oven door Burn and Electrical Shock Hazard Make sure all controls are OFF and the oven is cool before removing oven door. Failure to do so can result in burns or electrical shock. Open the door to the first stop position. Hold the door at both sides and lift it at the same angle it is in.
