6 U SING Y OUR R ANGE U SING THE SURF ACE BURNERS NOTE: Do not leave empty cookware, or cookwar e which has boiled dry , on a hot surface bur ner . The cookware could overheat, causing damage to the cookware or cooking pr oduct.
7 USING YOUR RANGE In case of a prolonged power failure Y ou can manually light surface bur ners. Hold a lit match near a burner and tur n the control knob to the LIGHT position. After the burner lights, tur n the control knob to the setting you want.
8 USING YOUR RANGE U SING THE OVEN Positioning racks and pans Place the oven racks where you need them befor e turning on the oven. • T o move a rack, pull it out to the stop position, raise the front edge and lift it out. • Be sure the rack(s) is level.

10 USING YOUR RANGE T HE ELECTRONIC TIME - OF - DA Y ( TOD ) CLOCK / TIMER CLOCK TIMER TIMER Oven timer pad (p. 11, 12) Display/clock • When you first plug in the range, “PF” will appear on the display . If “PF” appears again on the display , your electricity was off for a while.
11 USING YOUR RANGE The timer does not start or stop the oven. It works like a kitchen timer . It can be set in hours and min- utes up to 12 hours, 59 minutes. The timer will dis- play minutes for settings under 1 hour and hours and minutes for settings over 1 hour .
12 USING YOUR RANGE U SING THE ELECTRONIC TIMER ( CONT . ) 3. When there is 1 minute of time r emaining, the display will begin counting down in seconds. When the timer countdown reaches zer o, the display will show “End” and you will hear four 1-second tones.

During baking/roasting, the burner will turn on and off to keep the oven temperatur e at the setting. 4. After baking/roasting, push and turn the oven control knob to OFF .
Although your new oven is properly adjusted to provide accurate temperatur es, it may cook faster or slower than your old oven. If you are not satisfied with the baking/r oasting results, you can change the of fset temperature by following the steps below .
NOTES: • Do not preheat when br oiling unless your recipe recommends it. 1. Place the rack where you need it in the oven. See “Broiling guide lines” later in this section. 15 USING YOUR RANGE B ROILING 2. Put your food on the broiler pan and place the pan in the center of the oven rack.
16 USING YOUR RANGE • Use only the broiler pan and grid pr ovided. They are designed to drain extra juices fr om the cooking surface. This drainage helps prevent spatter and smoke. • T o make sure the juices drain well, do not cover the grid with foil.
17 USING YOUR RANGE Hot air and moisture escape fr om the oven through a vent that is near the middle of the backguar d . The vent lets air circulate pr operly .
18 U SING THE S ELF -C LEANING C YCLE Before you start the Self-Cleaning cycle, make sure you: NOTE: DO NOT clean, move, or bend the gasket. Y ou may get poor cleaning, baking, and roasting. • Hand-clean the areas shown. They do not get hot enough during the Self-Cleaning cycle for soil to burn away .
19 USING THE SELF-CLEANING CYCLE S ETTING THE CONTROLS YOU SEE OVEN ON light goes on. DOOR LOCKED/CLEAN- ING light flashes until you close door , then is solid. HEA T- ING light goes on when oven starts heating. 1. Set the oven control knob to CLEAN. The door will lock itself within 6 seconds.
20 USING THE SELF-CLEANING CYCLE S ETTING THE CONTROLS ( CONT . ) T o stop the self-cleaning cycle at any time: T urn the oven control knob to OFF . TURN YOU SEE DOOR LOCKED/ CLEANING light stays on. COOL appears in display until oven goes below locking temperature.
21 C ARING FOR Y OUR R ANGE Before cleaning, always make sur e all controls ar e off and the range is cool. Refer to instructions on all cleaning products befor e using them to clean your range. 23 Cleaning the surface burners • Y ou should routinely remove and clean the burner cap. Always clean the burner cap after a spill- over . Keeping the burner cap clean prevents improper ignition and an uneven flame.
24 CARING FOR YOUR RANGE S EALED SURF ACE BURNERS AND COOKTOP ( CONT . ) T o clean the burners: 1. Pull the burner cap straight up from the burner base. 2. Clean the burner cap with warm, soapy water and a sponge. Y ou can also clean it with a mildly abrasive scrubbing pad or cleanser .
25 2. Carefully close the door until it r ests against the door removal pins. T o replace: NOTE: The door removal pins you inserted must still be in both door hinges. 1. Grasp the door on the sides with your fingers on the front of the door and your thumbs on the inside surface.
26 CARING FOR YOUR RANGE R EMOVING THE O VEN DOOR ( CONT . ) T HE OVEN LIGHT Range Front frame hinge slot 2. Hold oven door so that the top edge of each hinge hanger is horizontal. Insert hinge hangers into the front frame hinge slots. 3. Tilt top of door toward range.
