12 Positioning your projector English P ositioning y our pr ojector Choosing a location Y our pr ojector is designed to be installed in one of four possible installation locations. Y our r oom lay out or personal pref erence will di ctate which installation location y ou select.

16 Positioning your projector English Shifting the projection lens The lens shift contr ol pro vides flexibility for installi ng y our projector . It allo ws the projector to be positioned off t he center of the screen. The lens shift is expressed as a per centage of the pr ojected image height or width.
17 Connecting to video equipment English Connecting to video equipment Y ou can connect the pr o jector to an y type of video e quipment, such as a VCR, D VD play er , digital tuner , cable or satellite decoder , video ga me console or digital ca mera.
18 Connecting to video equipment English Connecting component-video de vices Be sure to match the corr esponding colors betw een the cables and the terminals. The BNC type component video jacks are pr ovided for connection to video output devices. The audio connections are pro vided for informational purposes only .

Many la ptops do not turn on their external video ports when connected to a projector . Usually a k ey combination like Fn + F3 or CR T/ LCD k ey turns the external displa y on/o ff.

If not already in, plug the supplied po wer cable into the A C inlet on the rear of the projector . 3. Plug the pow er cable into a wall po wer outlet and turn the wall switch on.
21 Using the projector English Selecting an input sour ce The pr ojector can be conn ected to multiple equipment at the same time. When the projector is f irst turned on, it will attempt to reconnect with the input source wh ich was in use when the pr ojector was last shut down.
22 Using the projector English Using the menus The pr ojector is equipped with multilingual On -Screen Displa y (OSD) menus for making various adjustments and settings. Below is the o verview of the OSD menu. T o use the OSD menus, please set the OSD m enu to your familiar language.
23 Using the projector English Utilizing the passw ord function For security purposes and to help pre vent unauthorized use, the projector includes an option for setting up passw ord security . The password can be set th rough the On-Screen Displa y (OSD) menu.

These can be used if necessary to change the projection angle. Scr ew the feet in or out as appr opriate to aim and lev el the pr ojection angle .
26 Using the projector English Corr ecting pictur e distor tion K eystoning occurs when the projector is not perpen dicular to the screen and is wher e the projected picture dis plays vi sible as a trapezoid shape lik e either of the follo wing: • T wo parallel sides (l eft and right, or top and bottom) but is noticeably wider on eit her side .
27 Using the projector English Using the pr eset and user modes Selecting a pr eset mode The pr ojector is preset with sev eral pre-defined pictur e modes so that you can choose one to suit y our operating envir onment and input so ur ce picture type.
28 Using the projector English Setting the User 1/User 2 mode There ar e two user -definable modes if the curr ent avai lable pic tur e modes are not suitable for your need . Y ou can use one of the picture mode s (except the selected User mode) as a starting point and customize the settings.
29 Using the projector English Fine-tuning the pictur e quality No matter what picture mode y ou ha v e selected, you are able to f ine-tune those settings to fit every presentation purpose. Those adjustments will be sa ved to the pr eset mode you are at when y ou exit the OSD menu.
