8 Using th e Hand set Softkeys The handset ha s two softkeys th at serve multi ple functions. The te xt sh own above the softkey indi cates the current function of the key. Press and hold the reset button for 10 secon ds while the telephone base i s powered on to reset the system PIN to the default (0 000), clear the call hi story, and perform a software reboot.
12 Activation Activating the Phone The phone needs to be acti vated to use Comcast features. To acti vate your phone: • Press center Navigati on key/ SEL / to select the acti vation link “Activate your Com cast Digital Voi ce service” • The screens will guide you through the activati on process.
13 Basic Calling Features Answerin g a call The handset allows you to answer int ernal as well as external call . • To answer the incomi ng call, press softkey Answer or key on the hand set. Once the call is connected, the screen will display call connection screen with destin ation number.
14 Making a ca ll To make an external call: • Use keypad to enter the destination nu mber you wish to reach and press Call softk ey / key to make the call.
15 Making an intern al “Interco m” call The handset allows you to make internal as well as external call. To make an int ernal call: • Use keypad to enter the destination han dset number you wish to reach and press so ftkey Intercom / key to make the call .
16 Answerin g an ext ernal call during a n “Interco m” call • During an intercom call , when there is an i ncoming external call, press softkey Ans wer on the han dset and the intercom call will end automaticall y. • To end the intercom cal l without an swering the incoming call, press OFF on the hand set.
17 Redial The handset allows you to redial a number. • To redial a number press the REDI AL/REMOVE key, a li st of last dial ed numbers is displa yed. • Use up or down navi gation key or to choose the entry. • Press key to make a call to the s elected entry.
18 Basic Phone Operations Handset Sp eak er phone an d han ds-free • During a call, press key to select between speake rphone and normal handset use. Mute • While you are on a cal l, press softkey Mute to prevent the other end party to h ear your voice, and press softke y UnMute to return to tw o-ways conversation.
19 Remote Firmware Upgrade Remote Firmware upgrade i s a process of upgradi ng your phone for any updates in the network. This process is initiated in the Silver Base whenever there are an y new software updates avai lable in the server. Thi s process happens while you are on the Home screen or accessing any of the onl ine services.
20 Multiple Profiles If you have Comcast.ne t email accounts, you will be able to create mul tiple profiles. If you are logged int o your profile, you will be able to access Email and Network Address book f eatures.
