2 Introduction Thank you for purchasing this camera. Every t hing you need to take quality digital photos and videos is included with your camera. Vivitar makes capturing those special moments as easy as possible. Note: Your camera needs an SD Memory card (up to 32GB) for normal use.

5 W hen p owering the camera ON for the first time the camera will take you through the initial camera setup. Powering the Came ra ON 1) Make sure the batteries have been inserted properly into your digital camera. Use 3x AAA (1.5v) batteries. Rechargeable batteries are not recommended for use.
6 Setting the ViviLink Default Option Once the Date and Time have been set, you w ill be asked to set the default Vivi Link de stination for photos and videos taken with your camera.
7 Main Camera Modes Your camera has different modes for the various camera functions. You can switch modes by pressing the MODE button on your camera after the camera has been powered ON. Photo Capture Mode Use this mode to capture pictures with your camera.

10 Using Your D i gital Camera Make sure the batteries have been inserted properly into your digital camera. If y our camera comes with a rechargeable lithium battery, make sure it is fully charged before the first use. Powering the came ra ON Press the Power button to turn your camera ON.
11 To change the active camera mode, make sure the camera is pow ered ON and press the MODE button on the back of the camera. W hen in Photo Captu re Mode, this icon will display on the top -left corn.
12 Photo Cap ture Mode The Photo Capture mode allows you to capture pictures with y our digital camera. T aking a Picture 1) W hile in Photo Capture mode, use the LCD display on the back of the camera to direct the camera at the scene you would like to capture.

15 Photo Capture M ode Menus The following are the menus that appear in your camera ‟s Photo Capture Mode:.
16 Scene Menu The Sc ene Menu allows you to choose scene settings that allow your camera to adapt properly to your current environment. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu.
17 Image Qualit y Menu The Image Qu ality menu allow s y ou to select the d esired quality level of t he images taken by your camera. Keep in mind that images with a higher image quality lev el will also take up more memory on your camera. 10) Press the SET button to open the menus for the curr ent mode.
18 8) An icon reflecting your selection will display on the L CD screen. 9) Remember that this setting will be saved by your camera until you manually change the setting or restore the camera‟s default factory settings.
19 Distance from the camera – The subject‟s face must be no further than 8 to 9 feet (3.5 meters) f rom t he camera a nd the face must c over a t le a st 20 % (1 / 5th) of the picture as „se en‟ on the LCD screen.
20 Facing the camera - The face of the subject(s) you are photographing must be facing the camera and must hold the pose for at least 4 t o 5 second s until the green square(s) appears around the subject`s face. Once a smile is detected the camera will automatically take the picture.

Color Effect Menu You can choose to add a color effect to the images taken with y our camera.
22 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y o ur previous mode. 8) An icon reflecting your selection will display o n the LCD screen 9) Remember that this setting will be saved by your camera until you manually change th e setting or restore the camera‟s default factory settings.
23 3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to scroll through the menu options. 4) Press the SET button to select the desired option. 5) A selected option icon will appear on the selected item. 6) Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select the next menu item.
24 Metering Menu The Metering setting will affect how your camera focuses when capturing an image. Depending on your selection, the camera wil l be more sensitive to focusing on particular areas in the display and adjust the image color and lighting accordingly .
25 3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to scroll through the menu options. 4) Press the SET button to select the desired op tion. 5) A selected option icon will appear on the selected item. 6) Press the LEFT or RIGHT but ton to select the nex t menu item.
26 T o Set the Da te and T ime : 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu. 3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to scroll through the menu options.
27 W hen t he camera sits idle for the designated period of time, the camera wil l shut off completely and will need to be powered on again with the power button before the next use. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu.
28 Format Memor y Card Menu You can use the Format Memory Card menu to delete all of the content that is cu rrently on y our camera‟s memory card. Keep in mind that formatting the memory card will per manently delete all of the content on your camera ’s memory card .
29 6) Press the UP or DOWN buttons to select “Yes” and press the SET button to begin the format. 7) The camera will be reset. 8) A message will appear indicating that the settings have been reset s uccessfully . Photo Play back Mode W hen y o u first turn on the camera, the camera w ill be in Photo Capture mode by default .

31 6) To delete all the images (including all unlocked photos and v ideos) on your camera‟s memory card, select “Delete All Images”. 7) Press the SET button to select the desired op tion. 8) You will be asked to confirm your selection. 9) The photos will be deleted as desired.
32 Rot ate M enu Use this menu to rotate the pictures that you‟v e t aken with your camera. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu. 3) Press the UP or DOWN direction control buttons to scroll through the menu options.
33 Protect/Lock M enu Pictures and Videos taken with your camera can be protected or “locked” to prevent any deletion or alteration being made to the files. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus fo r the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu.
34 Slide Show Menu You can view a slideshow of all the pictures taken with your camera by pressing the “Up” Quick Function button while in Playback mode. The Slideshow menu allow s you to set the interval length of time that each picture will display during the slideshow.
35 4) You will see a red icon at the top of the LCD indicating that the record is in progress. 5) To stop the video record, press the Shutter button again. 6) The video will automatically be saved to the camera‟s memory or SD card. 7) You can also capture your videos using the Flip Screen .
36 Video Capture Mode Menus The following are the menus that appear in your camera‟s Video Ca p ture Mode:.

40 Image Sharpness M enu You can set the level of sharpness in the imag es taken with your camera. The sharpness level dictates if the edges of objects in the image are more or less distinct. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode.
41 5) A selected option icon will appear on the selected item. 6) Press the LEFT or RIGHT button to select the next menu item. 7) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to your previous mode. 8) An icon reflecting your selection will display on the LCD screen.

46 This option can only delete all of the content at one time. I f you would like to delete indiv idual images, use the delete menu in the ca mera‟s Playback mode. 1) Press the SET button to open the menus for the current mode. 2) Press the LEFT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scroll and select the chosen menu.
47 Video Play back Mode W hen y o u first turn on the camera, the camera will be in Photo Capture mode by default . Press the MODE button twice to open the Playback Mod e. The Playback Mode will allow y ou to review and edit photos and videos that you‟ve already t aken with you camera.
48 Video Playback Mode Menus The following are the menus that appear in your camera‟s Video Playback Mode: Delete Menu W hile in the Playback mode, you can delete videos from your camera through the delete menu. 1) View the image you would like to delete.
49 6) Press the MODE button to exit the menu and return to y o ur previou s mode. 7) An icon will appear on the image with the selected ViviLink destinatio n site.
50 Installing the Soft w are You must be connected to the internet to install and run the Vivitar Experien ce Image Manager software. 1) Insert the installation CD into your CD-ROM drive. The installation screen should automatically open. 2) On PC: The Vivitar Experience Image Manager Installer window appears.

Cli ck the “How to transfer photos and videos from my camera to my computer” button for instructions. 5) If you have internet access, the “Choose your language” window opens, choose your language and click “Next” to open the next window.
52 Getting Photos and Videos from your Camera to Your Computer An SD card needs to be inserted. Do not disconnect the cable during transfer. Doing so will cancel the transfer of any files on their w ay to your computer. 1) Select the “Get Images” button from the Main menu.

54 Transfer media f rom m y camera to my computer manually (Using W indows) 1) Use the USB cable that came with your camera to connect your camera to your c ompu ter. 2) MSDC appears on the LCD. 3) A window appears with a list of options, select “ Open folder to view f iles ” an d click OK.

57 Troublesho oting Q: I have taken photos an d selected the “Get Images” button. I get a message that the images were successfully transferred but the photos do not appea r on my c omputer. What do I do? First ensure that you have in fact taken photos.
