4 Initial Camera Set up Charging the Battery To charge your b attery, first connect the USB Cab le to your cam e ra . Then follow one of the steps below: A) - Conne ct one end of th e USB cable into the USB port on your cam era. - Conne ct the other e n d of the USB cable to the USB port on your com pute r .
5 Battery Power: Some features, such as Flash, will not w ork if the battery power le vel is low . W hen the b attery power is lo w the battery icon turns red and the cam era wil l autom ati cally turn off a few se conds later .
6 T ur ning On the Camera Using the Camera W hen pow er ing the cam era o n for the F IRST t i m e the cam era will take you through the INITIAL CAMERA SETUP . Powering the Camera ON 1) Battery Make sure the battery i s full y charged. 2) SD Card Ma ke su re the SD Mem or y Card ha s been i nserted properly .

8 Main Camer a Mod es Y our cam era has d ifferent m ode s for the various cam er a fun ctions. Y ou can switch m odes by pr essing the MODE button on your cam era after the cam er a has bee n powered ON. Photo Capture Mode Use thi s m ode to captu re pictures with your cam era.

11 Powering t he Camera On/Off Make sure the b ha ve been inserted properly into your d i gita l ca m era . If your ca m era com es with a rechar geab l e lithium batt ery , m ake sure i t is fu lly cha rged before the first u s e. Make sure an SD card ha s been inserted into your c am er a.
12 Changing C amera M ode Y our camera has three main m odes: 1) Ph o to Ca pture Mode - Use this mode to capture p hotos w i th your camera. 2) V id eo Capture M ode - Use th i s m o de to capture videos with your cam er a .
13 Navigati ng the Menu s Each cam er a m ode has a set o f m enu s specific to that m ode . 1) Press the SET button to open the m enu s for the current m o de. 2) Press the L E FT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scro l l between the various m enus for the current mode.
14 Photo Ca pture Mode W hen the digita l cam era is fir st pow er ed ON, the camera will b e in Photo Capture Mode by default. The Photo Capture m od e all ows you to capture pictures with your d i gita l ca m era .

16 Flash Options There are several Fla sh opt i ons available on your camera. The options appear on the Photo Capture Mode LCD screen in seq uence. T o change the F la sh m ode, press the LEFT Quick Fu nction button un til you a rri ve at you r de si red settings.

21 Anti-Shake Menu (3D and 2D Photo Capt ure) The Anti-Shake feature reduces im age d istortion that can be caus ed by m ove m e nt o f the cam er a w hi le capturing the im age. 1) Press the SET button to open the m enu s for the current m o de. 2) Press the LEFT o r RIGH T direct i on control bu ttons to scroll and select the Anti-Shake m enu.

24 setting or resto r e the cam er a‟ s default fa ctory se ttings. Image Sharpness Menu (2D Photo Capture) Y ou can set the level of sha rpness in the im a ges taken w ith your cam era . The sharpness l evel dictates if the edges of object s i n the im age are more or l ess distinct.

26 Meteri ng Menu (3D and 2D Photo Capture ) The Metering setting will aff ect how you r cam e ra focuses when capturing an im age . Depending on your selection, the cam e ra will b e m o re sensitive to focusing on pa r ticular areas in the display and adjust the im a ge col or and light i ng accordingly .

30 Format M e mory Card Menu (3D and 2D Ph oto Capture) Y ou can use the Form at Me m or y Card menu to delete all of the content that is currently on y ou r cam er a‟s m e mory card . Keep in mind that form a tting the m e mory card will p ermanen t ly d elete all of th e c o nte nt o n your c amera ’ s memory card .
31 Y ou w il l then autom ati cally exit the m enu a nd retur n to the prev ious m o de with the digital cam er a setti ngs set to the Factory Defau l t Settings. Note: Af te r RESETTING to t he default sett i ngs, it is recomm ended to sel ect your system Language, Date/T im e and ViviLink for Photos and V i deos.
32 Photo Pla y ba ck M ode The Playback Mode allows you to review and edit photos and videos that you‟ve already t aken w ith you camera. W hen you f i rst turn on the cam era , the camera w i ll be in Photo Capture m od e by default . Press the MODE button twice to open the Play b ack Mode.
33 Ph oto Playback Mode Quick Function B uttons Y our di gita l cam era h as a four -directional pad that functions as Quick Function buttons. Quick Function Button Function Lef t Displays the PRE VIOUS im a ge Up V i ews all the Pho tos as a Slide Show w i th 3 , 5 or 10 second intervals.
34 Photo Pla y back Mode Menus The following are the m e nus that ap pear in your cam er a‟ s Photo Pla yback M o de: Delet e Menu (3D and 2D Phot os ) W hile in the P l ayback Mode, you can de l ete pictures from your camera through the Delete menu.
35 All of your im a ges will be perm anentl y deleted. A bl ank „No Files Exist‟ screen will appear . Press the MODE button t o ex i t the „No Files Ex i st‟ s creen a nd return to Photo Capture m ode . Remember : Al l images w i ll be deleted ex ce pt i m ages t hat are Protected/Locked.
36 Rotate Menu (2D Phot os onl y) Use thi s m enu to ro t ate the pictures that you‟v e taken w i th your camera. 1) Press the SET button to open the m enu s for the current m o de. 2) Press the L E FT or RIGHT direction control buttons to scro l l and select the Rot a te m e nu.
37 Protect/Lock M enu (3D and 2D Phot os ) Pictur es and V ideos taken w i th your camera can be protected or “ lo cked” to prevent any de letion or alteration being m a de to the file s. 1) Press the SET button to open the m enu s for the current m o de.
38 Slide Show Menu (3D and 2D Phot os ) Y ou can vi ew a Slide Show of all the p ictures t aken with your cam era by p ressing the UP Qui ck Function button while in Playback m od e. The S lide Show m enu a llows you to set the interval len gth of t ime that each p ictu re will display during the s lide show .
39 Video Cap ture Mode The Video Capture Mode allows you to captur e vi deos w i th your digita l ca m er a. W hen the cam era i s f ir st pow er e d ON, the cam era w ill be in Photo Capture Mode. Press the MODE button once to access the V ideo Ca pture Mode .

50 Frequency Menu (3D and 2D Photo Capture) The op tions i n the Frequency m enu r epresent the frequency of the electrical current in flu orescent lighting sources i n your loca l e. If your camera is set to a frequency that does not m atch yo ur coun try‟s electric current, you m ay see flickering or waves on the i mages t a ken by your camera.
51 5) T o proceed with the form at, sel ect “Y es” a nd p r ess the SE T button. Y ou w il l be asked to confirm th e formatting of the m e m ory ca rd. Sel ect “No” to ex i t withou t form atti ng. Sel ect “Y e s” and press the SET button to be gin.
52 Video Pla yback Mode The Playback Mode allows you to review and edit photos and v i deos that you‟ve already tak en w ith you camera. W hen you f i rst turn on the camera, the cam era will be in Photo Capture m ode by default . Press the MODE button twice to open the Play b ack Mode.

57 Installing the Software Y ou m ust be connected to the internet to i nstall and run t he V ivitar Experien ce Image Ma nager so ftw a re. 1) Insert the insta ll ation CD into your CD- ROM drive. The in sta l lation screen should autom ati cally open.
58 5) If you have internet access, the “Choose your language” window opens, choose your lan guage and click “Next” to open the next w i ndow . 6) Select your cam era model from the list and click “Nex t” to open the nex t window . 7) Click “Next” to confirm your camera model selection and to insta ll the application.
59 Getting P hotos and Vi deos f rom your Camera to Y our Com puter An SD card needs to be inserted. Do not d i sconnect the cable dur in g transfer . Doing so will cancel the transfer of any files on their way to yo ur computer . 1) Select the “Get Im ages” b utton from th e Mai n m enu.
